Multilayer ceramic capacitor and manufacturing method for same
A multilayer ceramic capacitor (10) has a laminate body (20) constituted by dielectric layers (17) and internal electrode layers (18) stacked alternately. The dielectric layers (17) contain (Ba.sub.(1-x-y)Ca.sub.xSr.sub.y).sub.m(Ti.sub.(1-z)Zr.sub.z)O.sub.3, where 0.03≤x≤0.16, 0≤y≤0.02, 0<z≤0.02, 0.99≤m≤1.02, as a primary component, and an R oxide (R is a rare earth element) by 1.0 to 4.0 mol in equivalent element, an Mg compound by 0.2 to 2.5 mol in equivalent element, an Mn compound by 0.1 to 1.0 mol in equivalent element, a Zr compound by 0.1 to 2.0 mol in equivalent element, a V compound by 0.05 to 0.3 mol in equivalent element, and an Si compound by 0.2 to 5.0 mol in equivalent element, per 100 mol of the primary component. The multilayer ceramic capacitor can offer excellent DC bias properties and ensure high reliability.
METHOD FOR MAKING YBCO SUPERCONDUCTOR
A method of producing polycrystalline Y.sub.3Ba.sub.5Cu.sub.8O.sub.y (Y-358) whereby powders of yttrium (III) oxide, a barium (II) salt, and copper (II) oxide are pelletized, calcined at 850 to 950° C. for 8 to 16 hours, ball milled under controlled conditions, pelletized again and sintered in an oxygen atmosphere at 900 to 1000° C. for up to 72 hours. The polycrystalline Y.sub.3Ba.sub.5Cu.sub.8O.sub.y thus produced is in the form of elongated crystals having an average length of 2 to 10 μm and an average width of 1 to 2 μm, and embedded with spherical nanoparticles of yttrium deficient Y.sub.3Ba.sub.5Cu.sub.8O.sub.y having an average diameter of 5 to 20 nm. The spherical nanoparticles are present as agglomerates having flower-like morphology with an average particles size of 30 to 60 nm. The ball milled polycrystalline Y.sub.3Ba.sub.5Cu.sub.8O.sub.y prepared under controlled conditions shows significant enhancement of superconducting and flux pinning properties.
Sprayed lithium cobalt oxide targets
A sputtering target comprising a top coat including a composition of lithium cobalt oxide LiyCozOx. x is smaller than or equal to y+z, and the lithium cobalt oxide has an X-Ray diffraction pattern with a peak P2 at 44°±0.2° 2-theta. The X-Ray diffraction pattern is measured with an X-Ray diffractometer with CuKα1 radiation.

A piezoelectric material composition, a method of manufacturing the same, a piezoelectric device, and apparatus including the piezoelectric device. The piezoelectric device may include a piezoelectric device layer including a first material and a second material surrounded by the first material, a first electrode portion disposed at a first surface of the piezoelectric device layer, and a second electrode portion disposed at a second surface of the piezoelectric device layer opposite to the first surface, wherein the piezoelectric device layer comprises a piezoelectric material composition represented by Chemical Formula 1: 0.96(Na.sub.aK.sub.1-a)(Nb.sub.b(T.sub.1-b))O.sub.3-(0.04-x)MZrO.sub.3-x(Bi.sub.cAg.sub.1-c)ZrO.sub.3+d mol % NaNbO.sub.3, wherein T is Sb or Ta, M is Sr, Ba or Ca, a is 0.4≤a≤0.6, b is 0.90≤b≤0.98, c is 0.4≤c≤0.6, d is 0≤d≤5.0, and x is 0≤x≤0.04 and wherein T is Sb or Ta and M is Sr, Ba, or Ca.
DIELECTRIC COMPOSITION AND MULTILAYER CAPACITOR
A dielectric composition and a multilayer capacitor including the same are disclosed. The dielectric composition including: a BaTiO.sub.3-based main ingredient; a first auxiliary ingredient including rare earth elements; and a second auxiliary ingredient including at least one of Ba and Ca but essentially including Ba, wherein the rare earth elements include Tb and Dy, and the first auxiliary ingredient and the second auxiliary ingredient satisfy a molar content condition of 0.40<(Tb/T_RE)*(Ba+Ca)<0.93, where T_RE is a total molar content of the rare earth elements in the first auxiliary ingredient.

An alumina-ceramic-based electrical insulator, to a method for producing the insulator, and to a vacuum tube includes the insulator. The electrical insulator is for insulating two electrodes of a vacuum tube through which a charged particle beam flows, the electrical insulator being formed of an alumina-based ceramic. The ceramic comprises a vitreous phase of between 2% and 8% by weight into which at least one metal oxide is diffused from a face of the electrical insulator.
Process for manufacturing a composite friction component
A process for manufacturing a friction component made of composite material, includes the densification of a fibrous preform of carbon yarns by a matrix including at least pyrocarbon and at least one ZrO.sub.xC.sub.y phase, where 1≤x≤2 and 0≤y≤1, the matrix being formed by chemical vapor infiltration at least from a first gaseous precursor of pyrocarbon and a second gaseous precursor including zirconium, the second precursor being an alcohol or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 polyalcohol modified by linking the oxygen atom of at least one alcohol function to a group of formula —Zr—R.sub.3, the substituents R being identical or different, and R being selected from: —H, C.sub.1 to C.sub.5 carbon chains and halogen atoms.
Multi-layer ceramic capacitor and method of producing the same
A multi-layer ceramic capacitor includes: a first region including a polycrystal including, as a main component, crystal grains free from intragranular pores; a second region that includes a polycrystal including, as a main component, crystal grains including intragranular pores and includes a higher content of silicon than a content of silicon in the first region; a capacitance forming unit including ceramic layers laminated along a first direction, and internal electrodes disposed between the ceramic layers; and a protective portion including a cover that covers the capacitance forming unit and constitutes a main surface facing in the first direction, a side margin constituting a side surface facing in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and a ridge constituting a connection portion, the connection portion connecting the main surface and the side surface to each other. The ceramic layers include the first region. The ridge includes the second region.
DIELECTRIC COMPOSITION AND MULTILAYER CERAMIC ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A dielectric composition includes dielectric particles and first segregations. The dielectric particles each include a perovskite compound represented by ABO.sub.3 as a main component. The first segregations each include at least Ba, V, and O. A molar ratio (Ba/Ti) of Ba to Ti detected in the first segregations is 1.20 or more.
Piezoelectric ceramics, manufacturing method for piezoelectric ceramics, piezoelectric element, vibration device, and electronic device
Provided is a piezoelectric ceramics having a gradual change in piezoelectric constant depending on an ambient temperature. Specifically, provided is a single-piece piezoelectric ceramics including as a main component a perovskite-type metal oxide represented by a compositional formula of ABO.sub.3, wherein an A site element in the compositional formula contains Ba and M.sub.1, the M.sub.1 being formed of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Ca and Bi, wherein a B site element in the compositional formula contains T1 and M.sub.2, the M.sub.2 being formed of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of Zr, Sn, and Hf, wherein concentrations of the M.sub.1 and the M.sub.2 change in at least one direction of the piezoelectric ceramics, and wherein increase and decrease directions of concentration changes of the M.sub.1 and the M.sub.2 are directions opposite to each other.
