Surgical barriers possessing clinically important absorption characteristics
The present disclosure provides copolymers useful in medical devices. For example, the disclosure provides copolymers comprising the polymerization product ester block, ether blocks and diisocyanates. In certain embodiments, the disclosure provides a medical copolymer for implantation comprising ester blocks and ether blocks, wherein: the ester blocks comprise a negative free energy transfer and the ether blocks comprise a positive free energy transfer, the ether and ester blocks are less than 1/10 the length of said copolymer, and, the blocks are distributed such that no domain of contiguous blocks possessing the same polarity of free energy transfer are less than ⅓ of the molecular weight of the copolymer. The disclosure further provides methods of making the aforementioned polymers, and medical devices comprising the polymers.
Resin composition
The present application relates to an adhesive composition capable of fixing a battery cell in a battery module and a battery pack. According to one example of the present application, there is provided a two-component urethane-based adhesive composition which has excellent storage stability and processability and is capable of providing physical properties required in related uses in a short time.
Polyglycolic Acid Resin and Production Process Thereof
Disclosed is a branched polymer resin comprising repeating units of —(—OCH2-CO—)— or —(—CO—CH2O—)—, which is produced by ring-opening polymerization in the presence of structure regulators and optionally end-capping agents. The branched polymer resin exhibits a lower melt viscosity and a higher heat-stable temperature and suitable for melt processing.
Novel Polyglycolic Acid and Preparation Method Thereof by Polycondensation
The invention relates a novel polyglycolic acid. The polyglycolic acid comprises branched repeating units and linear repeating units. The polyglycolic acid may be produced from methyl glycolate by polycondensation in the presence of structure regulators, and exhibit excellent melt strength and thermal stability while maintaining good flowability and suitability for use in melt blow molding.
Use of Phase Segregated Block Copolymers with Tunable Properties for the Coating of Surfaces and Coated Substrates
Use of phase segregated block-copolymer based on repeating structural elements represented by formula I
##STR00001##
wherein PHA represents at least one block based on one or more a-hydroxy acids, PDAS represents a central block based on a dialkylsiloxane, the PDAS block has a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 4000 to 10000, the blocks PHA have a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 2000 to 10 000, the phase segregated block copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of from 40 000 to 120 000 and wherein R is a divalent organic residue for the coating of substrates and coated substrates.
SOFT TISSUE IMPLANT POCKET
There is provided a soft tissue implant pocket which reduces the incidence of capsular contracture. The pocket is manufactured from a biodegradable, biocompatible polyurethane foam. The polyurethane contains biodegradable polyols and the foam has a pore size configured for cellular infiltration. The soft tissue implant pocket find use in, for example, breast augmentation and reconstruction.
Polyhipes by interfacial step-growth polymerization
A polyHIPE-templated composition-of-matter afforded by interfacial polymerization, comprising a polymer of alternating residues of hydrophobic and hydrophilic monomers. The described composition-of-matter is characterized by an open-, quasi-closed- or a truly closed-cell microstructure, whereas the latter is capable of non-releasably or releasably encapsulating an organic or aqueous composition therein for extended periods of time, as well as various uses thereof.

In-Situ forming foam for the treatment of vascular dissections
Systems and methods related to polymer foams for the treatment of blood vessel dissections are generally described. Some embodiments relate to compositions and methods for the preparation of polymer foams, and methods for using the polymer foams. The polymer foams can be applied to or within a dissection caused by an intimal tear in a blood vessel, sealing the dissection and preventing further perfusion thereof. In some embodiments, the polymer foam can be formed within a body cavity (i.e., in-situ foam formation). The foam may be used to fill the dissection as a thrombosing agent. In addition, the foam may be used in conjunction with medical devices such as stents, stent-grafts, balloons, and catheters.
