Compressible non-reticulated polyurea polishing pad

The invention provides a polishing pad suitable for polishing at least one of semiconductor, optical, magnetic or electromechanical substrates. It includes a polyurea polishing layer and a polyurea matrix. The polyurea has a soft segment being a copolymer of aliphatic fluorine-free polymer groups and a fluorocarbon having a length of a least six carbons. The polyurea matrix being cured with a curative agent and including gas or liquid-filled polymeric microelements. The polyurea matrix has a bulk region and a transition region adjacent the bulk region that extends to the polishing layer. The polymeric microelements in the transition region decrease in thickness as they approach the polishing layer with thickness of the compressed microelements adjacent the polishing layer being less than fifty percent of a diameter of the polymeric microelements in the bulk region. The polishing layer remains hydrophilic during polishing in shear conditions.

Multiphase coatings with separated functional particles, and methods of making and using the same

Some variations provide a multiphase polymer composition comprising a first polymer material and a second polymer material that are chemically distinct, wherein the first polymer material and the second polymer material are microphase-separated on a microphase-separation length scale from about 0.1 microns to about 500 microns, wherein the multiphase polymer composition comprises first solid functional particles selectively dispersed within the first polymer material, and wherein the first solid functional particles are chemically distinct from the first polymer material and the second polymer material. Some embodiments provide an anti-corrosion composition comprising first corrosion-inhibitor particles or precursors selectively dispersed within the first polymer material, wherein the multiphase polymer composition optionally further comprises second corrosion-inhibitor particles or precursors selectively dispersed within the second polymer material. These multiphase polymer compositions may be used for other applications, such as self-cleaning, self-healing, or flame-retardant coatings. Methods of making and using these multiphase polymer compositions are disclosed.

(Per)fluoropolyether polymers and use thereof

The present invention relates to novel (per)fluoropolyether (PFPE) polymers, to a process for their manufacture and to their use as additives in coating compositions.

Curable composition, method for producing same, and article using same

A composition including at least one compound having a perfluoropolyether group and a curable site, wherein in a molecular weight distribution curve in gel permeation chromatography measurement, the following formula is satisfied: M2/M1≤3.5, wherein M1 is a molecular weight at a main peak, and M2 is a molecular weight at 25% intensity of an intensity of the main peak on a higher molecular weight side than M1. Also disclosed is a curable composition containing the composition and a method for producing the curable composition.

Fluorinate polyacrylate coating composition, the preparation method therefore and use thereof

The embodiments herein relate to a composition of a fluorinated polyurethane acrylate resin and a polyurethane acrylate resin, which, upon curing, is durable and has anti-stain and anti-scratch properties. The preparation of the composition is conducted with a one-pot multicomponent synthesis process, wherein multiple components are put together to carry out reactions simultaneously. The process is especially suitable for industrial scale production, and open for adding additive components to further adjust the performance of the prepared composition. The embodiments herein also relate to oligomers prepared in the synthesis process, as well as the use of the composition or oligomer to form a coating onto a substrate.

Medical articles formed from a polyurethane-based resin including a modifying oligomer provide enhanced properties. A modifying oligomer incorporated into a backbone, as a side chain, or both of the polyurethane-based resin formed by a diisocyanate, a polyglycol, and a diol chain extender has at least one, preferably two, alcohol moieties (C—OH) and a functional moiety. Exemplary modifying oligomers are: a diol-containing perfluoropolyether incorporated into the backbone, a monofunctional polysiloxane (e.g., monodialcohol-terminated polydimethylsiloxane) incorporated as the side chain, and combinations thereof. Medical articles herein are self-lubricating and/or anti-fouling.

The invention provides a polishing pad suitable for polishing at least one of semiconductor, optical, magnetic or electromechanical substrates. The polishing pad includes a polyurea polishing layer and a polyurea matrix. The polyurea matrix has a soft phase and a hard phase. The soft phase is formed from soft segments and the hard phase is formed from diisocyanate hard segments and a curative agent. The soft segment areva copolymer of aliphatic fluorine-free polymer groups and a fluorocarbon having a length of a least six carbons. The polyurea matrix is cured with the curative agent and includes gas or liquid-filled polymeric microelements. The soft segments form a fluorine rich phase that concentrates adjacent the polymeric microelements and at the polishing layer during polishing. The polishing layer remains hydrophilic during polishing in shear conditions.
