PROCESSABLE, TUNABLE THIO-ENE CROSSLINKED POLYURETHANE SHAPE MEMORY POLYMERS
An embodiment includes a platform shape memory polymer system. Such an embodiment exhibits a blend of tunable, high performance mechanical attributes in combination with advanced processing capabilities and good biocompatibility. A post-polymerization crosslinking synthetic approach is employed that combines polyurethane and thiol-ene synthetic processes. Other embodiments are described herein.

Polymer polyols (“PMPOs”), processes for their production, and the use of such PMPOs, particularly in the production of flexible polyurethane foams. The PMPOs are produced using an ethylenically unsaturated composition that includes a crosslinker that results in crosslinks in the PMPO polymer particles that may decompose when exposed to flame temperatures. The PMPOs is capable of providing a flexible polyurethane foam that may exhibit combustibility resistance properties.

GELCOAT COMPOSITIONS FOR SANITISED WATER POOLS
The invention provides a gelcoat composition for coating a sanitised water pool, the composition comprising: curable polymeric components comprising: (i) an unsaturated polyester base resin and (ii) a polyester-polyurethane prepolymer, wherein the polyester-polyurethane prepolymer is terminally functionalised with polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated functional groups; and reactive diluent, wherein the unsaturated polyester base resin is present in an amount of greater than 50 wt. % of the curable polymeric components, and wherein the polyester-polyurethane prepolymer is present in an amount of no more than 25 wt. % of the gelcoat composition.
GELCOAT COMPOSITIONS FOR SANITISED WATER POOLS
The invention provides a gelcoat composition for coating a sanitised water pool, the composition comprising: curable polymeric components comprising: (i) an unsaturated polyester base resin and (ii) a polyester-polyurethane prepolymer, wherein the polyester-polyurethane prepolymer is terminally functionalised with polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated functional groups; and reactive diluent, wherein the unsaturated polyester base resin is present in an amount of greater than 50 wt. % of the curable polymeric components, and wherein the polyester-polyurethane prepolymer is present in an amount of no more than 25 wt. % of the gelcoat composition.

Embodiments provide a coating material including (A) 100 parts by mass of an active-energy-ray-curable resin, (B) 5 to 200 parts by mass of aluminum oxide particles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 μm, (C) 0.1 to 20 parts by mass of aluminum oxide microparticles having an average particle diameter of 1 to 100 nm, and (D) 0.1 to 40 parts by mass of a compound having at least two isocyanate groups per molecule, where the active-energy-ray-curable resin (A) includes (a1) 70 to 99% by mass of a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate and (a2) 30 to 1% by mass of an acrylamide compound having at least one hydroxyl group per molecule, and the sum total of the amount of the polyfunctional (meth)acrylate (a1) and the amount of the acrylamide compound (a2) having at least one hydroxyl group per molecule is 100% by mass.

The present invention relates to a multi-aziridine compound having: a) at least 2 of the following structural units (A) whereby R.sub.1 is H; R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 are independently chosen from H, a linear group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, a branched or cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, phenyl, benzyl, or pyridinyl; R.sub.3 is chosen from a linear group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, a branched or cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally containing one or more heteroatoms, phenyl, benzyl, or pyridinyl; or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 (in case R.sub.2 is different than H) may be part of the same cyclic group containing from 3 to 8 carbon atoms; R′ and R″ are independently H or an aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; and b) a molecular weight of at least 600 Daltons, wherein the molecular weight is determined using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry according to the description.

FABRICATION OF MICRO/NANO- FLUIDIC CHANNELS THROUGH ULTRAVIOLET PATTERNING
Methods for making a B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film are provided. At least a urethane acrylate oligomer, a multifunctional thiol, and a base catalyst are combined to form a thiol terminated B-stage elastomer. The thiol terminated B-stage elastomer is exposed to an ultraviolet photoinitiator in the presence of an allyl ether terminated urethane to form the B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film. In some embodiments the B-stage thiol-cured urethane acrylate elastomeric film is used for a soft actuator application such as a fluidic elastomer actuator application or an electrostatic zipping actuator application.
