Composition for Coating the Edge of an Optical Lens
The present invention relates to a cross-linkable composition comprising an epoxy oligomer comprising at least six hydroxy groups, to a coating obtained by curing the cross-linkable composition and to an optical lens comprising said coating on a surface thereof, in particular on the edge surface thereof. The invention also relates to a method of preparing a coating for an optical lens and to a method of coating a surface of an optical lens, in particular the edge surface of an optical lens.
TWO COMPONENT COATING COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed is a coating composition comprising a first component and a second component. The first component comprises a diluent and a carbodiimide present in an amount of no more than 50 percent by weight based on total weight of the coating composition. The second component comprises a curing agent that chemically reacts with the carbodiimide, the curing agent comprising an active hydrogen-containing compound. The epoxy compound comprises a Diels-Alder dimer and an ester moiety. The process includes providing a polymer formed by reacting the epoxy compound with the amine curing agent. The device includes a material that includes the polymer.

Adhesion promoters, Curable compositions containing the adhesion promoters, cured compositions that are formed from the curable compositions, and articles containing the cured compositions are provided. The adhesion promoter has at least one epoxide group and a plurality of hydrolyzable silyl groups. The curable compositions include an adhesion promoter, an epoxy resin, and a curing agent for the epoxy resin that has at least two amino groups that are primary and/or secondary amino groups.
Epoxy resin adhesive with high compressive strength
An epoxy resin adhesive including at least one epoxy resin in the resin component, at least one adduct AD including primary amino groups which is free-flowing at room temperature and is formed from (i) at least one polyepoxide and (ii) at least one amine of the formula (I) and optionally further amines, and additionally at least one accelerator B having at least one dimethylamino group in the hardener component, and a total of at least 50% by weight of at least one inorganic filler. The epoxy resin adhesive has low odor and good processibility, rapidly builds up strength at room temperature and under cold conditions and, after curing, has high strengths, especially particularly high compressive strengths, and high bonding forces to substrates such as steel, carbon fiber composites (CRP) and concrete.

An epoxy resin adhesive including at least one epoxy resin in the resin component, at least one adduct AD including primary amino groups which is free-flowing at room temperature and is formed from (i) at least one polyepoxide and (ii) at least one amine of the formula (I) and optionally further amines, and additionally at least one accelerator B having at least one dimethylamino group in the hardener component, and a total of at least 50% by weight of at least one inorganic filler. The invention relates to a Mannich base useful as an epoxy curative agent. In particular, the present invention is directed to a Mannich base derived from furfuryl alcohol, or a homopolymer or co-polymer thereof, an epoxy resin curative composition comprising the Mannich base, a cured epoxy resin obtainable using the composition, processes for preparing the Mannich base and uses thereof. An example of a Mannich base derived from furfuryl alcohol in accordance with the present invention is shown below (Structure I):
