The invention relates to poly(oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) microgels, to the process for preparing same and the uses thereof in various fields of application such as optics, electronics, pharmacy and cosmetics.

These microgels have the advantage of being monodisperse, pH-responsive and temperature-responsive. They can carry magnetic nanoparticles or biologically active molecules. These microgels may also form transparent films, which have novel optical and electromechanical properties.

Described herein are substituted polyetheramines with a low melting point which are obtainable by condensation of at least two N-(hydroxyalkyl)amines to obtain a polyetheramine and subsequent reaction of at least one remaining hydroxy group and/or, if present, at least one secondary amino group of said polyetheramine with ethylene oxide and at least one further alkylene oxide to obtain a substituted polyetheramine. Uses of such substituted polyetheramines in fields of cosmetic formulations, as crude oil emulsion brakers, in pigment dispersions of ink jets, in electro paintings, or in cementitious compositions as well as methods wherein said substituted polyetheramines are used in said fields are described herein.

Curing agent and method for manufacturing the same

A curing agent and method for producing the same are provided, the method includes: esterification reaction: reacting a polyhydric alcohol with a polybasic acid anhydride to obtain an ester-based emulsifier (A); chain extension reaction: reacting an ester-based emulsifier (A) with a bifunctional epoxy resin to obtain a polymer intermediate (B); and reacting the polymer intermediate (B) with a polyamine compound to obtain a curing agent (C).

Compositions including a poly(arylene ether), and compaction rollers for an automated fiber placement machine incorporating the composition are provided. The poly(arylene ether) may be a reaction product of at least one disubstituted benzophenone and at least one polyol. The at least one polyol may include at least one fluorinated diol. The composition may have a thermal conductivity of from about 0.2 to about 50 Watts per meter Kelvin (Wm.sup.−1K.sup.−1).
