Provided is a method of recycling an additively manufactured object into a reusable thermoplastic polymer, which method in some embodiments may include: (a) providing at least one additively manufactured object produced by stereolithography from a dual cure resin, the object comprising (i) a light polymerized polymer, and (ii) a heat polymerized polymer intermixed with said light polymerized polymer; (b) comminuting the object to produce a particulate material therefrom; (c) contacting the particulate material to a polar, aprotic solvent for a time and at a temperature sufficient to extract the heat polymerized polymer from the particulate material into said solvent, leaving residual particulate material comprising said light polymerized polymer in solid form; (d) separating the residual particulate material from said solvent; and then (e) separating the heat polymerized polymer from said solvent to provide a reusable thermoplastic polymer material in solid form.

A polymer composition for coating expanded polystyrene (EPS) is provided, the polymer composition includes a mixture of at least one of polyurea, polyurethane, silicon elastomer, and combination thereof in a predefined ratio. The polymer composition imparts desired properties such as high impact and abrasion resistance, elongation strength, and anti-static property along with flexural strength to the EPS. The present invention also provides the process for coating the polymer composition onto the EPS. The matrix coating process provides much stronger bonding due to overlap of coating of the polymer composition on the sides of the EPS and reduces the wastage of the polymer composition during the coating of the EPS. The present invention also provides the EPS coated with the polymer composition. The EPS coated with the polymer composition possesses the properties such as high impact resistance, abrasion resistance, elongation strength, flexural strength, and anti-static property.

The invention provides hydrogel, wherein the hydrogel has a supramolecular cross-linked network obtainable or obtained from the complexation of an aqueous composition including a host, such as cucurbituril, and one or more polymers having suitable guest functionality. One or more polymers in the aqueous composition may have a molecular weight of 50 kDa or more, such as 200 kDa or more. The hydrogel may hold a component, such as a therapeutic compound or a biological molecule. The hydrogels are suitable for use in medicine.

The present invention relates to a molding made of reactive foam, wherein at least one fiber (F) is arranged partially inside the molding, i.e. is surrounded by the reactive foam. The two ends of the respective fiber (F) not surrounded by the reactive foam thus each project from one side of the corresponding molding. The reactive foam is produced by a mold foaming process. The present invention further provides a panel comprising at least one such molding and at least one further layer (S1). The present invention further provides processes for producing the moldings according to the invention from reactive foam/the panels according to the invention and also provides for the use thereof as a rotor blade in wind turbines for example.

Transparent rollable folded polysiloxane film and preparation and self-repairing method thereof

This invention provides a scrollable and foldable transparent polysiloxane film and its preparation and self-healing method. 2-Hydroxyethyl disulfide, diisocyanate and alkane chloride were mixed and reacted to get disulfide-containing diisocyanate. α,ω-Aminopropyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane, diisocyanate and alkane chloride were mixed and reacted get linear chain-extended polydimethylsiloxane. Linear chain-extended polydimethylsiloxane, multi-amino terminated hyperbranched polysiloxane, disulfide-containing diisocyanate and alkane chloride were mixed and poured into a mould. After drying, the scrollable and foldable transparent polysiloxane film was obtained. The polysiloxane film described in this invention are constructed by dynamic physical crosslinking induced by hydrogen bond and permanent chemical crosslinking generated by hyperbranched polysiloxane. Hence, the polysiloxane film achieves both high stiffness and toughness. The good self-healing behavior of the polysiloxane films is originated from the temperature controlled dissociation of hydrogen bonds and exchange reaction rate of disulfide bonds.

CARBON NANO MATERIALS IN CROSSLINKED POLYURETHANE AND POLYUREA APPLICATIONS WITH OPTIMIZED PROPERTIES

Disclosed herein are novel methods to handling carbon nano materials and forming composite materials from carbon nano materials and polymers such as polyurethane and polyurea materials. Such novel methods provide a number of benefits to a polymer processor and end user of any resulting materials or products. As disclosed herein, methods of incorporating carbon nano materials into polymers can achieve benefits regarding electrical properties, modulus, and thermal stability as well as other benefits. However, enhancing and creating such improvements in material properties must be done with care because creating or enhancing one property does not always result in the creation or improvement in other properties. For example, thermal stability, electrical conductivity, and mechanical properties can be optimized in different ways, and at different loadings of differing carbon nano materials. Thus, it is necessary to carefully consider a number of factors when designing methods for incorporating carbon nano materials into polymers.
