FUNCTIONALIZED PROCESS AID BLENDS FOR CELLULAR PVC
A method of reducing foamed density that results in a foamed polyvinyl chloride (PVC) component exhibiting reduced density. The foamed PVC component contains at least a PVC resin and a process aid blend. The process aid blend contains from 1 weight % to 60 weight % (based on the weight of the blend) of a functionalized process aid, and from 99 weight % to 40 weight % (based on the weight of the blend) of a non-functionalized process aid. The functionalized process aid includes at least one base polymer functionalized with a reactive epoxy, hydroxyl, β-keto ester, β-keto amide, or carboxylic acid functional group. The foamed PVC component containing the process aid blend has a lower density than a reference foamed PVC component made using the same process conditions and additives, but which contains only non-functionalized process aid and not the functionalized process aid.
COMPOSITE POLYMERIC FILM
A composite film comprising a of amide substrate layer having a first and second surface, and a primer coating layer disposed on the first surface of the substrate layer, wherein the primer coating layer is derived from a composition comprising an acid copolymer resin, an organic crosslinker and an acid catalyst. A heat-sealable coating is applied on the primer.
Low-gloss heat-resistant abs resin composition and its preparation method
The present invention relates to a low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition and its preparation method. The low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition includes following components by weight: 100 parts of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin, 5-30 parts of heat-resistant agent, 1-5 parts of matte masterbatch D, 0.2-1.0 parts of light stabilizer, and 0.5-2.0 parts of other additives. The preparation method includes steps of: stirring and fully mixing the above-mentioned raw materials in a high-speed mixer, and then feeding the raw materials into a twin-screw extruder through a metering device; melting and compounding the materials under the conveying, shearing and mixing of the screws, and then extruding, pulling, cooling and granulating, and finally obtaining the low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition. The resin composition provided by the present invention not only has excellent mechanical properties, but also has an ultra-low gloss; therefore, it is very suitable for use in the field of automotive interior parts.
Cured film formation composition, orientation material, and retardation material
There is provided a cured-film formation composition that forms a cured film having excellent photoreaction efficiency and solvent resistance, and high adhesion, an orientation material for photo-alignment, and a retardation material formed with the orientation material.
FILM COATING COMPOSITION AND METHOD
A composite film includes a polyester film substrate layer and a crosslinked layer on a surface thereof, wherein the crosslinked layer includes a reaction product of a) a functionalized ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer including multiple COOH groups or multiple alcoholic OH groups per molecule; and b) an organic crosslinker including multiple reactive groups per molecule, the reactive groups being reactive with the COOH or alcoholic OH groups; wherein the adhesion strength between the substrate layer and the crosslinked layer is at least 177 g/cm (450 g/inch). A method of joining the composite film, optionally further including a heat-sealable polymer layer on the crosslinked layer, to a container or a self-supporting film, includes contacting the crosslinked layer or the heat-sealable polymer layer with the container or the self-supporting film or under heat sealing conditions.
Ductile one-component thermosetting epoxy composition
A one-component thermosetting epoxy resin composition, including a) at least one epoxy resin A having on average more than one epoxide group per molecule; b) at least one latent hardener for epoxy resins; c) at least one physical or chemical blowing agent BA; d) 3-15 wt.-% of at least one carboxyl group containing acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber ABR1 with a Mooney Viscosity of 15-30 MU (Mooney units), based on the total amount of epoxy resin A; and e) 3-15 wt.-% of at least one carboxyl group containing acrylonitrile/butadiene rubber ABR2 with a Mooney Viscosity of 35-50 MU (Mooney units), based on the total amount of epoxy resin A. The ratio of ABR1 to ABR2 is from 0.5-2.0. The epoxy resin adhesive is notable for the improved storage stability.
FLEXIBLE PRINTED MATERIAL
A method of forming a flexible printed material is described. The method comprises applying a layer of primer onto a flexible substrate; electrostatically printing onto the layer of primer a liquid electrostatic ink composition; applying a curable overprint varnish composition onto the printed electrostatic ink composition and curing the overprint varnish composition using electron beam irradiation. The curable overprint varnish composition comprises an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, an ethylenically unsaturated oligomer, or mixtures thereof, and less than 10 wt. % of a cross-linking additive based on the total weight of the curable overprint varnish composition. A flexible package comprising the flexible printed material is also described.
