Processing post-industrial and post-consumer waste streams and preparation of post-industrial and post-consumer products therefrom
A system for and method of, processing post-consumer and post-industrial waste streams, producing active ingredients for waste stream processing, processing aqueous waste streams, preparing and collecting a multi-purpose chemical precursor, removing phosphates, nitrates, heavy metals, and other contaminants from aqueous waste streams, collecting and processing a post-consumer and post-industrial product from aqueous waste streams, administering and positioning assets and processes associated with waste stream processing, and scheduling operations for sub-systems of the system.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
A method for making a polymer composition comprises the steps of providing a heterophasic thermoplastic polymer composition, providing a compatibilizing agent, providing a peroxide compound, and mixing and melting the heterophasic thermoplastic polymer composition, compatibilizing agent, and peroxide compound. The compatibilizing agent comprises an ester compound formally derived from a polyol comprising three or more hydroxy groups and an aliphatic carboxylic acid comprising one or more carbon-carbon double bonds. A modified polymer composition comprises a heterophasic thermoplastic polymer composition and a compatibilizing agent. The modified polymer composition has an ethylene discontinuous phase present in the form of discrete particles in a propylene continuous phase. The discrete particles of the ethylene discontinuous phase are present in the modified polymer composition in a concentration of 2.1 or more particles per cubic micron.
POLYMER RECYCLATE PROCESSES AND PRODUCTS
Methods for processing LDPE recyclates including, but not limited to, polyethylene and polypropylene and compositions therefrom are provided. LDPE recyclate can be visbroken to improve processing characteristics and/or devolatilized to remove waste byproducts to produce processed LDPE recyclates. Processed LDPE recyclates are compounded with pre-consumer polyolefins to produce blend compositions having acceptable or even improved processing characteristics. Such pre-consumer polyolefins can also be visbroken to further tailor processing characteristics of such polymer blends. A combination of extruders and/or extruder zones can be used at the same or different locations for visbreaking and/or compounding of both LDPE recyclate and/or pre-consumer polyolefins.
POLYMER RECYCLATE PROCESSES AND PRODUCTS
Methods for processing HDPE and/or MDPE recyclates including, but not limited to, polyethylene and polypropylene and compositions therefrom are provided. HDPE and/or MDPE recyclate feedstocks can be visbroken to improve processing characteristics and/or devolatilized to remove waste byproducts to produce processed HDPE recyclate and/or processed MDPE recyclates. Processed HDPE recyclate and/or processed MDPE recyclates are compounded with pre-consumer polyolefins to produce blend compositions having acceptable or even improved processing characteristics.
