THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED MATTER
A thermal transfer sheet that yields three-color black printed matter having an extremely high density, and a method for producing printed matter using the thermal transfer sheet are provided. The thermal transfer sheet includes a substrate film and a dye layer containing a magenta dye disposed on one surface of the substrate film, and the magenta dye includes at least one of an anthraquinone-based dye represented by general formula (1) below and an anthraquinone-based dye represented by general formula (2) below. An image is formed by a thermal transfer method using the thermal transfer sheet. (In general formula (1), R.sup.1 is a phenyl group which may have a substituent. In general formula (2), R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. R.sup.a and R.sup.b are each independently a hydrogen atom or a nitro group.)

One-Way Circularly Polarized Light Generated by Propagation through Ch-GLC Films Doped with Light-Absorbing Dyes
An optical system that includes a cholesteric glassy liquid crystal film doped with a dye and configured to preferentially absorb light of a first handedness, such as left-hand circularly polarized (LCP) light, but pass light of the opposite handedness, such a right-hand circularly polarized (RCP) light. Adding an anti-reflection coating can further increase the transmission-to-reflection ratio.

The present disclosure provides a contact lens comprising a first colourant which is a blue-blocking colourant having an absorption maximum (λ.sub.max) in the range of from 415 nm to 455 nm and a second colourant, wherein the second colourant is a polymerizable dye having an absorption maximum (λ.sub.max) in the range of from 470 nm to 600 nm, and optionally also comprising a third colourant which is a colourant having an absorption maximum in the range of from greater than 600 nm to 800 nm. A method of making the lens is also provided.

The present disclosure provides a contact lens comprising a first colourant which is a blue-blocking colourant having an absorption maximum (.sub.max) in the range of from 415 nm to 455 nm and a second colourant, wherein the second colourant is a polymerizable dye having an absorption maximum (.sub.max) in the range of from 470 nm to 600 nm, and optionally also comprising a third colourant which is a colourant having an absorption maximum in the range of from greater than 600 nm to 800 nm. A method of making the lens is also provided.
