An ink set includes a first ink containing the compound represented by formula (y-1) or its salt, a second ink containing one or two or more of the compound represented by formula (m-1) or its salt, the compound represented by formula (m-2) or its salt, a compound represented by formula (m-3) or its salt, and the compound represented by formula (m-4) or its salt, and a third ink containing one or two or more of a compound represented by formula (c-1) or its salt, the compound represented by formula (c-2) or its salt, the compound represented by formula (c-3) or its salt, a compound represented by formula (c-4) or its salt, and the compound represented by formula (c-5) or its salt. ##STR00001##

The present invention provides a compound and a pigment dispersant, each of which improves the dispersibility of various types of pigments in a non-aqueous solvent and also provides a pigment composition, a pigment dispersion, and a toner, each of which has a preferable coloring power. The compound includes a polymer which has a monomer unit having a specific structure and also includes a specific partial structure.

An ink accommodating body accommodating an ink composition is provided, in which the ink composition contains water and a first dye that is a compound represented by Formula (B-1) or a salt thereof, a content of the first dye in the ink composition is 0.5% by mass or more with respect to a total amount of the ink composition, and a value of a ratio (A/V) is 1.7 or less where a total surface area of a metal, of the ink accommodating body, in contact with the ink composition is A (cm.sup.2) and an accommodation capacity for the ink composition accommodated in the ink accommodating body is V (cm.sup.3).

A yellow toner which provides, even in small amounts, a sharper color and brighter gloss, and higher reflection density than ever before, and which has excellent light resistance. The present application relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two constituents: at least one chromophore constituent and at least one polymeric constituent. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by the polymeric component comprising at least two repeating glycerol units. This disclosure also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

A water-based ink for ink-jet recording, includes: a solid solution of a quinacridone pigment including C.I. Pigment Violet 19 and C.I. Pigment Red 122, an azo pigment including C.I. Pigment Red 48:3, and water.

A water-based ink for ink-jet recording includes: a solid solution of a quinacridone pigment including C.I. Pigment Red 202 and C.I. Pigment Violet 19; an azo pigment including C.I. Pigment Red 48:3; and water.
