The present invention addresses the problem of providing an aqueous paint composition that has a relatively high solid content ratio and that is capable of forming a coating film having excellent brilliance. The present invention provides an aqueous paint composition that contains (A) a water-dispersible hydroxy-containing acrylic resin, (B) a flake-effect pigment, and (C) a water-dispersible cellulose-based rheology control agent, wherein the content of the flake-effect pigment (B) is within a range of 1 to 50 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the resin solids content in the aqueous paint composition, and the aqueous paint composition has a solids content of more than 10 mass % and 35 mass % or less.
COATING FOR REDUCING OIL ABSORBENCY OF CELLULOSIC WEBS
A method for reducing the surface oil absorption of cellulose based substrate is provided, in which a coating composition is applied to said substrate; and in which the coating composition comprises carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and/or a salt of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). A coated paperboard, and a laminate of the coated paperboard with a polymer layer is also provided. The coating composition provides improved surface oil absorption and improved adherence of an overlying polymer layer.
COATING FOR REDUCING OIL ABSORBENCY OF CELLULOSIC WEBS
A method for reducing the surface oil absorption of cellulose based substrate is provided, in which a coating composition is applied to said substrate; and in which the coating composition comprises carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and/or a salt of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). A coated paperboard, and a laminate of the coated paperboard with a polymer layer is also provided. The coating composition provides improved surface oil absorption and improved adherence of an overlying polymer layer.
A SURFACE COATED CELLULOSIC FILM
A cellulosic film comprising MFC is provided, which is coated on at least one surface thereof with at least one cured barrier layer. The cured barrier layer comprises CMC which has been crosslinked with a crosslinking agent. A method for improving the barrier properties of a cellulosic film is also provided.

A water-based, carbon filler-dispersed coating formulation for forming a conductive coating film contains (1) a hydroxyalkyl chitosan as a resin binder, (2) a conductive carbon filler, and (3) a polybasic acid or its derivative in a water-based medium containing at least water as a polar solvent. In 100 parts by mass of the coating formulation, the hydroxyalkyl chitosan (1) is contained in a range of from 0.1 to 20 parts by mass, and the conductive carbon filler (2) is contained in a range of from 1 to 30 parts by mass. An electricity-imparting material, an electrode plate for an electricity storage device, a process for producing the electrode plate, and the electricity storage device are also disclosed.

A manufacturing method which includes: (1) an alkali cellulose reaction step wherein a mixed solvent having a mixing ratio (a mass ratio) of an alcohol having a carbon number of 3 or less and water of 75:25 to 95:5 is used, and the concentration of the base to the water is 25 to 40 mass %; (2) an etherification reaction step wherein a reaction is carried out under an excess base of 0.2 to 0.5 moles per unit of an anhydroglucose of the cellulose; (3) a neutralization step wherein acid is added to adjust the pH of the reaction mixture to 6.0 to 8.0; and (4) a heating step wherein the mixed solvent is removed, and a base is added to adjust the pH of the reaction mixture to 8.0 to 9.0, and then a heat treatment is performed at 40 to 70° C. for 30 to 120 minutes.
Sealed Package Comprising Parchment Paper and a Polysaccharide-Based Coating
The present invention relates to a sealed package for food comprising i) a first parchment paper sealing and forming a volume for storage of food ii) a polysaccharide-based composition coated ii.a) on one side of said first parchment paper; or ii.b) on a biobased binder coating which is coated directly on one side of said first parchment paper wherein the polysaccharide-based composition is coated on the side of the package facing away from the formed volume. The invention also relates to a method of forming a sealed package and the use thereof.

Provided are: a dispersant which has good dispersibility and reduces electronic resistance; and a battery having excellent characteristics, which uses this dispersant and is decreased in the ionic resistance and the reaction resistance.
