These MSMC can be used as film or coating on a substrate and are exhibiting self-healing and bacterial anti-adhesion properties.

The present disclosure provides for a coating composition system suitable for forming a stain resistant and soft tactile texture coating onto a variety of substrate materials including plastic materials, metal materials, ceramic materials, and concrete materials. Described herein are fluid complex coacervates that produce solid adhesives in situ. Oppositely charged polyelectrolytes were designed to form fluid adhesive complex coacervates at ionic strengths higher than the ionic strength of the application site, but an insoluble adhesive solid or gel at the application site. When the fluid, high ionic strength adhesive complex coacervates are introduced into the lower ionic strength application site, the fluid complex coacervate is converted to a an adhesive solid or gel as the salt concentration in the complex coacervate equilibrates to the application site salt concentration. In one embodiment, the fluid complex coacervates are designed to solidify in situ at physiological ionic strength and have numerous medical applications. In other aspects, the fluid complex coacervates can be used in aqueous environment for non-medical applications.

COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING FLUORINE POLYMER

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a coating composition containing a dissolved, specific fluoropolymer at a high concentration that is usable in fluoropolymer coating. A fluorine-containing alcohol composite comprising a condensate of a fluorine-containing alcohol represented by the general formula: HO-A-R.sub.F-A-OH [I] (wherein R.sub.F is a group containing a perfluoroalkylene group or a polyfluoroalkylene group having 6 or less carbon atoms and an ether bond, and A is an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), a hydroxyl group-containing polymer, and a zirconium compound. The fluorine-containing alcohol composite, using a fluorine-containing alcohol, does not produce perfluorooctanoic acid and the like when released into the environment and that has a unit easily decomposed into short chain compounds. And also, it exhibits hydrophilic oil repellency.
