The invention relates a process for the preparation of a bonded structure (4) comprising at least a first plastic part (1) having a first bonding surface (1a), said process comprising the step of a) treating at least part of a first bonding surface of said first plastic part with a flame of a propane-comprising gas, said propane-comprising gas being propane or a mixture comprising at least 50 wt. % of propane based on the weight of the propane-comprising gas with one or more gases selected from the group consisting of methane, ethane, butane, pentane, and hexane, wherein, during treatment with a flame of the propane-comprising gas, a flame is produced by burning a mixture of air and the propane-comprising gas, wherein the gas-to-air ratio is chosen such that the propane gas to oxygen volume ratio is equal to or less than 1:5.01, for example less than 1:5.00 and preferably at least 3.50 to obtain a first plastic part having a flame-treated first bonding surface.
ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
Provided is an adhesive composition that is capable of forming an adhesive layer having excellent electrical properties (low relative permittivity and low dielectric loss tangent) and excellent adhesiveness (adhesion properties) after heat curing, can improve adhesiveness (adhesion properties) in a laminating step, can prevent the peeling and lifting of layers during temporary fixing and roll-to-roll work, also has a high crosslink density, and does not cause heat resistance, solvent resistance and the like to deteriorate. The adhesive composition contains a bismaleimide resin and a styrene-based elastomer.
Malonate and cyanoacrylate adhesives for joining dissimilar materials
The present teachings contemplate a method comprising providing a first and second substrate, locating an initiator onto a surface of the first or second substrate, the initiator including a substance for initiating polymerization of a polymerizable adhesive, locating the polymerizable adhesive onto a surface of the first and second substrate, the adhesive including a monofunctional, difunctional, or multifunctional methylene malonate, or cyanoacrylate, and contacting first and second substrate.
Multilayer adhesive article
An adhesive article is described comprising a foamed adhesive layer and a non-foamed adhesive layer. The adhesive of each adhesive layer comprises a tetrahydrofurfuryl (meth)acrylate copolymer; an epoxy resin; a polyether polyol; and optionally a hydroxy-functional film-forming polymer. The adhesive may be used in structural and semi-structural bonding applications and is designed to fail cohesively.
THERMAL INDICATOR, THERMAL INDICATING COMPOSITION AND THERMAL INDICATING STRUCTURE
A thermal indicator, a thermal indicating composition (1), as well as two kinds of thermal indicating structures (11) are disclosed. The thermal indicator comprises an organic solid material (2) having a melting point higher than ambient temperature and a dye (3) which contacts the organic solid material (2) and is capable of being dissolved in the organic solid material (2) when the thermal indicator is heated to the melting point of the organic solid material (2). The thermal indicator, the thermal indicating composition (1), as well as these two kinds of thermal indicating structures (1) have simple structures and can be manufactured by a simple process. Furthermore, the existence of the dye (3) in its crystalline state offers significant resistance to UV radiation in outdoor applications.
LAMINATED RUBBER HOSE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Provided is a method for manufacturing a laminated rubber hose that includes a first layer and a second layer laminated on an outer surface of the first layer, the first layer containing a thermosetting resin in an amount of 4.5 parts by mass or less relative to 100 parts by mass of a rubber component, the method including laminating the second layer on the outer surface of the first layer with the outer surface of the first layer maintained at a temperature range of 65 C. or more and 105 C. or less.
