Silane modified polymers with improved properties
The disclosure relates to moisture curable compositions based on a combination of silane-modified polymer and silane functional additive, their manufacture and use. The silane functional additive is preferably prepared from a water miscible polyol having a functionality of about 2 to about 4 and/or a polyol having a tertiary nitrogen atom in the backbone and a functionality equal or greater than about 2.
SYNTHESIS METHOD OF POLYETHER FOR LOW-MODULUS SEALANT
The present disclosure discloses a synthesis method of polyether for a low-modulus sealant, belonging to the technical field of organic compound synthesis. In the synthesis method of the present disclosure, a reaction is performed by using a mixture of monohydric alcohol polyoxypropylene ether and polyhydric alcohol polyoxypropylene ether as a starter, using epoxypropane as a chain extender and adding a metal complex catalyst, so as to obtain the polyether for the low-modulus sealant after the reaction is ended. The polyether prepared in the present disclosure can not only well enhance the rigid strength of the sealant but also reduce the elasticity modulus of the sealant, overcoming the problem that the existing polyether silane modified sealant is high in modulus. The synthesis method of the present disclosure is simple in synthesis process, easy to produce and control, short in production period and low in energy consumption.
Curable composition with improved mechanical properties and high transparency
The invention relates to a curable composition comprising a) at least one polymer having at least one terminal group of the general formula (I)

wherein A is a divalent or trivalent bonding group containing at least one heteroatom, R is selected from divalent hydrocarbon residues having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, X, Y, Z are, independently of one another, selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group and C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkoxy, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 acyloxy groups and CH.sub.2NR wherein N is oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur, preferably oxygen, and R is selected from C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkyl groups, preferably a methyl group, wherein X, Y, Z are substituents directly bound with the Si atom or the two of the substituents X, Y, Z form a ring together with the Si atom to which they are bound, and at least one of the substituents X, Y, Z is selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkoxy or C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 acyloxy groups, and n is 0 or 1; and b) at least one compound of the general formula (II) ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 is same or different and is, independently from one another, selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and hydrocarbon residues having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is same or different and is, independently from one another, selected from hydrocarbon residues having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, Ar is selected from aryl groups, and n is an integer selected from 3 to 9; and adhesive, sealant, or coating materials comprising the composition and use thereof.
