SELECTIVE PROCESS AND CATALYSTS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RENEWABLE FUELS AND DISTILLATES OF HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT
The present invention relates to a process for the conversion of plant oils, animal fats, waste food oils and carboxylic acids into renewable liquid fuels, such as bio-naphtha, bioQAV and renewable diesel, for use in combination with fossil fuels. The process is composed of two steps: hydrotreatment and hydrocracking. The effluent from the hydrotreatment step contains aromatics, olefins and compounds resulting from the polymerization of esters and acids. This is due to the use of partially reduced catalysts without the injection of a sulfiding agent and allows for the production of bioQAV of suitable quality for use in combination with fossil kerosene. Concurrently, the process generates, in addition to products in the distillation range of naphtha, kerosene and diesel, high molecular weight linear paraffins (up to 40 carbon atoms).
Method for reducing fouling in catalytic cracking
A method is disclosed for reducing fouling in catalytic cracking. The method includes subjecting a recycled fossil-based feedstock to a heat treatment, evaporating the heat-treated feedstock, hydrotreating resulting evaporation distillate and performing catalytic cracking of the hydrotreated distillate in a presence of a solid acid catalyst.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CRUDE BIO-OIL FROM BIOMASS WITH A HIGH MOISTURE CONTENT AND CATALYST FOR HYDROTHERMAL LIQUEFACTION OF STREAMS OF BIOMASS WITH A HIGH MOISTURE CONTENT
The present invention addresses to a hydrothermal liquefaction process capable of generating a liquid stream, rich in renewable molecules, with lower oxygen content, lower percentage of water and lower acidity compared to other products of thermochemical processes of biomass conversion. In order to effectively carry out this process, a catalyst was developed, obtained from the calcination of castor bean hull, to be used in the field of biofuels in order to provide an environmentally friendly alternative for the production of fuels.
METHOD FOR UPGRADING BIO-BASED MATERIAL AND UPGRADED MATERIAL
Provided is a method for upgrading a bio-based material, the method including the steps of pre-treating bio-renewable oil(s) and/or fat(s) to provide a bio-based fresh feed material, hydrotreating the bio-based fresh feed material, followed by separation, to provide a bio-propane composition.
Conversion of glycerol to fuel-range organic compounds
A process for producing fuel-range organic oxygen-containing compounds is provided. The process includes converting glycerol in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst. The fuel-range organic oxygen-containing compounds can be deoxygenated to produce gasoline and jet fuels or fuel blending components.
Methods for Converting C2+ Olefins to Higher Carbon Number Olefins Useful in Producing Isoparaffinic Distillate Compositions
A nonlimiting example method for producing a diesel boiling range composition comprises: oligomerizing an ethylene stream to a C4+ olefin stream in a first olefin oligomerization unit, wherein the C4+ olefin stream contains no greater than 10 wt% of methane, ethylene, and ethane combined in a first oligomerization; and wherein the ethylene stream contains at least 50 wt% ethylene, at least 2000 wppm ethane, no greater than 1000 wppm of methane, and no greater than 20 wppm each of carbon monoxide and hydrogen; oligomerizing the C4+ olefin stream and a propylene/C4+ olefin stream in a second oligomerization unit to produce an isoolefinic stream; wherein at least a portion of the isoolefinic stream is used to create the diesel boiling range composition.
Acid-resistant catalyst supports and catalysts
A process for preparing a catalyst comprises coating substantial internal surfaces of porous inorganic powders with titanium oxide to form titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders. After the coating, an extrudate comprising the titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders is formed and calcined to form a catalyst support. Then, the catalyst support is impregnated with a solution containing one or more salts of metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, cobalt, and nickel.
Preparation of a fuel blend
A method is disclosed for preparing a renewable fuel blend. The method includes subjecting at least two feedstocks of different biological origins to catalytic cracking in a catalytic cracking unit and to hydrotreatment in a hydrotreatment unit to form a fuel blend having an aromatic hydrocarbon content from 26 to 42 wt-% and a paraffinic hydrocarbon content of less than 53 wt-%, as measured according to ASTM D2425-04 (2011). The fuel blend is formed by mixing the at least two feedstocks together before subjecting them to the catalytic cracking and hydrotreatment, or by obtaining a first fuel component and at least one further fuel component from the catalytic cracking and hydrotreatment of the at least two feedstocks, and mixing the first fuel component and the at least one further fuel component together.
