Hydrocarbon Pyrolysis of Feeds Containing Mercury
The invention generally relate to processes, systems, and methods for the pyrolysis of hydrocarbon feeds containing one or more forms of mercury, e.g., the steam cracking of heavy oil, such as crude oil. Effluent from the pyrolysis is processed to remove various forms of mercury produced during the pyrolysis and/or carried over from the hydrocarbon feed.
ISOPRENE EXTRACTION WITH PRESERVED C5 FEEDSTOCK
A process for extracting isoprene from a pyrolysis gas mixture or a C5 fraction wherein isoprene is purified by plural extractive distillations in the presence of a polar solvent and cyclopentadiene is effectively removed and recycled as a feedstock without being converted into its dimer, dicyclopentadiene. The isoprene recovered from the process described is more than 99.5% pure.
CATALYST MANUFACTURING METHOD
A method for producing a catalyst or catalyst precursor is described including: applying a slurry of a particulate catalyst compound in a carrier fluid to an additive layer manufactured support structure to form a slurry-impregnated support, and drying and optionally calcining the slurry-impregnated support to form a catalyst or catalyst precursor. The mean particle size (D50) of the particulate catalyst compound in the slurry is in the range 1-50 μm and the support structure has a porosity ≧0.02 ml/g.
Catalyst manufacturing method
A method for producing a catalyst or catalyst precursor is described including: applying a slurry of a particulate catalyst compound in a carrier fluid to an additive layer manufactured support structure to form a slurry-impregnated support, and drying and optionally calcining the slurry-impregnated support to form a catalyst or catalyst precursor. The mean particle size (D50) of the particulate catalyst compound in the slurry is in the range 1-50 m and the support structure has a porosity 0.02 ml/g.
