ADDITIVE COMPOSITION AS A COMBUSTION IMPROVER FOR LIQUID AND GASEOUS FUELS
This invention is related to an additive composition comprising metal-based quantum clusters (QCs) dispersed in a hydrocarbon medium. The additive composition is useful as a fuel additive, as it acts as a combustion improver for liquid and gaseous fuels. The invention describes a process for the synthesis of the additive composition comprising metal-based materials in atomic cluster form in hydrocarbon dispersible medium. The stable liquid dispersion of the QC has been doped into the hydrocarbon fuels at required concentrations. The measurable flame temperature of the fuels, e.g., commercial LPG on burner has been observed to increase by at least 60-80° C. The flame with high heat through put can be used for efficient cooking, heating, annealing and other high thermal applications. The additive composition may also be used to improve the fuel economy of the liquid hydrocarbon fuels.

Also provided are marine fuel and/or heating oil compositions having the additive composition described above and associated methods and uses.
Nano perovskite materials as combustion improver for liquid and gaseous fuels
The present invention relates to use of Perovskite type of materials as combustion improver in gaseous and liquid fuels. Structurally, the Perovskite material consists of ABO.sub.3, A.sub.xB.sub.1-xC.sub.yO.sub.3 or A.sub.xB.sub.1-xC.sub.yO.sub.3 kind of material with stoichiometric deficiency and oxygen deficient sites. More particularly, the present invention relates to the nanosized perovskite materials stably dispersed in hydrocarbon medium and compatible to the fuel has been used to improve the combustion process and generate more heat output.
Nanocarbon particle based fuel additive
A fuel additive composition has a base fuel; colloidal nanocarbon particles, and a dispersion stabilizer that aids in stably suspending the colloidal nanocarbon particles in the base fuel. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
POROUS CERAMIC FILTERS AND METHODS FOR FILTERING
Disclosed herein are particulate filtration systems comprising a fuel source, a fuel burner, and a porous ceramic structure, the fuel source comprising at least one fuel additive capable of producing ash upon combustion. The resulting ash can be deposited on the porous ceramic structure in an amount sufficient to improve the filtration efficiency of the structure over a relatively short period of time or relatively short driving distances. Vehicles comprising such particulate filtration systems and methods for filtering particulate matter from a fluid stream are also disclosed herein. Further disclosed herein are methods for conditioning a particulate filter to improve the initial filtration efficiency.
Rapid method for production of cerium-containing oxide organic colloids
Improved methods for producing colloidal dispersions of cerium-containing oxide nanoparticles in substantially non-polar solvents are disclosed. The cerium-containing oxide nanoparticles of an aqueous colloid are transferred to a substantially non-polar liquid comprising one or more amphiphilic materials, one or more low-polarity solvents, and, optionally, one or more glycol ether promoter materials. The transfer is achieved by mixing the aqueous and substantially non-polar materials, forming an emulsion, followed by a phase separation into a remnant polar solution phase and a substantially non-polar organic colloid phase. The organic colloid phase is then collected.
