The invention provides a composition comprising at least the following: an oil, and at least one compound selected from Compounds 1 through 3, or a combination thereof, as described herein. The composition can be used to improve the high pressure, free-radical polymerizations of ethylene-based interpolymers, and to reduce polymer build-up in reciprocation devices throughout the process.

Lubricant treatments for free-radical polymerizations
A process to prepare an ethylene-based polymer, said process comprising polymerizing a mixture comprising ethylene, at a pressure greater than, or equal to, 100 MPa, in the presence of at least one free-radical initiator; and in a reactor system comprising at least one reactor and at least one Hyper-compressor, and wherein at least one oil formulation, optionally comprising one or more lubrication agents, is added to the Hyper-compressor; and wherein at least one of the following steps takes place: A) thermally treating the one or more lubrication agents, in an oxygen-free atmosphere, to achieve a peroxide level ≤10 ppm, based on the weight of the lubrication agent(s), and then adding said agent(s) to the oil formulation, prior to adding the oil formulation to the Hyper-compressor; or B) thermally treating the oil formulation, in an oxygen-free atmosphere, to achieve a peroxide level ≤10 ppm, based on the weight of the oil formulation, prior to adding the oil formulation to the Hyper-compressor; C) a combination of A and B.
Cylinder lubricating oil composition for crosshead diesel engine
(1) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, the composition having: a sulfated ash content of 2.0 to 5.5 mass %; a base number of 15 to 45 mgKOH/g; and an autoignition temperature of no less than 262° C. (2) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, comprising: a lubricant base oil; (B) a Ca sulfonate detergent having a base number of no less than 10 mgKOH/g and less than 60 mgKOH/g; (C) a Ca phenate detergent having a base number of 55 to 200 mgKOH/g; (D′) an amine antioxidant; and (E′) a zinc dithiophosphate, wherein the composition has a base number of no less than 15 mgKOH/g and less than 120 mgKOH/g.
LUBRICANT TREATMENTS FOR FREE-RADICAL POLYMERIZATIONS
