Low-pressure catalytic conversion of used motor oil to diesel fuel
A method is provided for reprocessing a petroleum-based waste oil feedstock into diesel fuel. The method includes forming a treated feedstock by (a) filtering the feedstock, thereby removing solids and metals from the feedstock, and (b) dehydrating the feedstock; vaporizing the treated feedstock to produce an oil vapor; passing the oil vapor through at least one catalyst bed and subsequently through a cooler, thereby converting the oil vapor to a hydrocarbon liquid product with a diesel product boiling point range; and removing contaminants from the hydrocarbon liquid product, wherein the contaminants are selected from the group consisting of particulates and color precursors.
AMINOBENZOIC ACID DERIVATIVES
This invention relates to N-alkylated anthranilic acid derivative and their use in lubricants, such as engine oils, as TBN boosters. The invention particularly relates to compositions that deliver an ash-free base to a lubricant in the form of a basic amine additive, without adversely impacting seal compatibility and/or degradation, and methods thereof.
Lubricating oil composition
Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition capable of having a good balance of electrical insulation, seizure resistance and wear resistance. In particular, the lubricating oil composition comprises: (A) a lubricant base oil; (B) an alkaline earth metal detergent; (C) a triazole-based compound represented by the following general formula (1) or (2): ##STR00001##
wherein R.sup.1-R.sup.6 are as defined herein; (D) at least one sulfur-containing compound selected from the group consisting of a sulfur-containing heterocyclic ether compound and a sulfide compound; and (E) an ashless dispersant.
Refrigerator oil and hydraulic fluid composition for refrigerators
A refrigerating machine oil containing: a lubricating base oil; and a compound represented by the following formula (1): ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent a monovalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.3 represents a divalent hydrocarbon group, and R.sup.4 represents hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and the refrigerating machine oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 0.5 mm.sup.2/s or more and 2.5 mm.sup.2/s or less.
USE OF A PHOSPHORUS COMPOUND AS A NON-CORROSIVE EXTREME-PRESSURE AND ANTI-WEAR ADDITIVE IN A LUBRICANT FOR A PROPULSION SYSTEM OF AN ELECTRIC OR HYBRID VEHICLE
The invention relates to the use of at least one phosphorus compound, which is free of sulfur and has no amine function, as an anti-wear and extreme-pressure additive in a lubricant composition for a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle. The invention also relates to the use of a lubricant composition comprising at least one phosphorus compound, which is free of sulfur and has no amine function, as an anti-wear and extreme-pressure additive, for lubricating and optionally cooling a propulsion system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, in particular for lubricating and cooling the electric motor and the power electronics of an electric or hybrid vehicle.
Refrigerator oil
The present invention provides a refrigerating machine oil comprising a hydrocarbon-based base oil having a viscosity index of 120 or less, and the refrigerating machine oil being used with a 1-chloro-2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene refrigerant.
PROCESS OF PRODUCING HIGH-QUALITY LUBE BASE OIL BY USING REFINED OIL FRACTION OF WASTE LUBRICANT
Proposed is a process of producing a high-quality lube base oil using a refined oil fraction obtained from waste lubricant as a feedstock. The process includes purifying waste lubricant to obtain a refined oil fraction, pretreating the refined oil fraction, and blending the pretreated refined oil fraction with unconverted oil (UCO), before or after vacuum distillation and catalytic dewaxing of the unconverted oil, or between the vacuum distillation and the catalytic dewaxing of the unconverted oil.
Lubricating composition
A lubricating composition comprising a base oil and one or more additives, wherein the composition has: a sulphated ash content (according to ASTM D 874) of at least 0.4 wt % and at most 1.0 wt. %, by weight of the lubricating composition; a total base number (TBN) value (according to ASTM D 2896) of at least 4.0 mg KOH/g and at most 12 mg KOH/g; a total aromatics content contributed by the base oil in the range from 1 wt % to 30 wt %, by weight of the lubricating composition; and a sulphur content contributed by the base oil of 0.4 wt % or less, by weight of the lubricating composition; and wherein the base oil comprises a blend of (i) a first base oil which is a mineral base oil selected from an API Group I mineral base oil and an API Group II mineral base oil, and mixtures thereof, and (ii) a second base oil selected from an API Group II base oil and an API Group III base oil, preferably wherein the first base oil belongs to a different API group to that of the second base oil.
LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
Lubricant compositions comprising a base oil, one or more antioxidants selected from a group consisting of N-α-naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants and diphenylamine antioxidants; and a sulfur-containing additive comprising up to seven carbon atoms exhibit outstanding oxidative stability and non-corrosion properties. The N-α-naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants plus diphenylamine antioxidants in total may be present from about 0.2 wt % to about 0.8 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition. The sulfur provided by the sulfur-containing additive may be present from about 50 ppm to about 1000 ppm by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.
