Methods and Systems for Solvent-Free Cleaning of Surfaces
An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure provides solvent-free cleaning systems and methods, the systems and methods comprise a polymer substrate having a crosslinked matrix positioned on at least one surface of the polymer substrate, wherein the crosslinked matrix is configured to absorb particulates from a surface of a material when placed in direct contact.
Contact lens packaging solutions containing hydrophilic polymers endcapped with a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic group
A packaging system for the storage of an ophthalmic device is disclosed. The packaging system comprises a sealed container containing one or more unused ophthalmic devices immersed in an aqueous packaging solution comprising one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers comprising hydrophilic units and endcapped with a hydrophobic end group and a hydrophilic end group, wherein the solution has an osmolality of at least about 200 mOsm/kg, a pH of about 6 to about 9 and is heat sterilized.
Amoebicidal Compositions for Contact Lens Solutions
Described herein are pharmaceutical compositions and contact lens solutions comprising an Acanthamoeba encystation inhibitor such as a cationic quaternary ammonium compound and a physiologically or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient, optionally in combination with an Acanthamoeba cytotoxic agent such as an alkylphosphocholine. Such compositions are suitable for use in the treatment of Acanthamoeba infection or the prevention or treatment of Acanthamoeba keratitis.
Ophthalmic device packaging solutions comprising tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane and nonionic surfactant
A packaging system for storing ophthalmic devices such as contact lenses and methods for packaging such ophthalmic devices with solutions is disclosed. The packaging system contains an unused, ophthalmic device in an aqueous packaging solution comprising tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane or a salt thereof; wherein the solution has an osmolality of at least about 200 mOsm/kg and a pH in the range of about 6 to about 9.
SOLUTION FOR TREATING CONTACT LENS
A solution for treating contact lens is provided. The solution includes about 0.01-1.0 parts by weight (pbw) of a polymer having phosphorylcholine groups, about 0.01-1 pbw of an inorganic salt, and about 100 pbw of water. The polymer has a number-average molecular weight of about 4,000 to about 1,000,000 daltons and has a structure of formula (I):
##STR00001##
wherein, in formula (I), m is a positive integer, n is zero or a positive integer, and R is C.sub.2-C.sub.12 alkyl group or C.sub.2-C.sub.12 hydroxyalkyl group. When n is a positive integer, m/n is greater than 1.
SOLUTION FOR TREATING CONTACT LENS AND CONTACT LENS PACKAGING SYSTEM
A solution for treating a contact lens and a contact lens packaging system are provided. The solution includes about 0.01 to about 1.0 parts by weight (pbw) of a polymer having phosphorylcholine groups, about 0.005 to about 0.05 pbw of a hydrophilic molecule, about 0.01 to about 1.0 pbw of an inorganic salt, and about 100 pbw of water. A number-average molecular weight of the polymer is about 4,000 to about 1,000,000 daltons. The polymer has a structure of formula (I):
##STR00001##
wherein, in formula (I), m is a positive integer, n is zero or a positive integer, and R is C.sub.2-C.sub.12 alkyl group, or C.sub.2-C.sub.12 hydroxyalkyl group. When n is a positive integer, m/n is greater than 1. Moreover, a number-average molecular weight of the hydrophilic molecule is about 10,000 to about 5,000,000 daltons. The hydrophilic molecule is hyaluronic acid (HA) or hyaluronate salt.
