Process of Using a Fish Plasma Component in a Nutrient Medium for Cell Culture
A process of using a fish plasma component in a nutrient medium for cell culture includes obtaining a fish that is a progeny of domesticated broodstock that are reared under consistent and reproducible conditions. Blood is obtained from the fish, and plasma is separated from the blood. One or more specific components of the plasma are then extracted, and cells are cultured in a nutrient medium using the one or more extracted plasma components, and none of any remainder of the plasma. The plasma and/or the plasma components is/are tested for presence and/or level of endotoxin. Extracting the one or more specific components of the plasma, and/or culturing the cells is only performed if the testing indicates an endotoxin level below a predetermined threshold. The cells cultured using the extracted one or more plasma components are other than fish cells.
METHODS OF IN-OVO SCREENING OF ANTI-CANCER THERAPIES
Xenograft egg models comprising a fertilized non-mammalian egg comprising an ablated immune system, a first plurality of mammalian cells and a second plurality of mammalian cells, wherein the second plurality comprises immune cells are provided. Methods of producing the xenograft egg model as well as using the xenograft egg model for screening are also provided.

Composition containing, as active ingredient, culture of chicken bone marrow-derived osteochondral progenitor cells for promoting osteogenesis or inducing chondrogenic differentiation
Provided herein are a method of promoting osteogenic differentiation efficiency of a stem cell or of inducing chondrogenic differentiation of a stem cell, comprising treating the stem cell with a culture solution of chicken bone marrow-derived osteochondroprogenitor cells; a method of preventing or treating cartilage damage or a cartilage defect disease comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a composition comprising a differentiation-induced stem cell or differentiated chondrocyte made by said method as an active ingredient; and a method of preventing or treating a bone disease, cartilage damage, or a cartilage defect disease comprising administering to a subject in need thereof, a composition comprising a culture solution or culture concentrate of chicken bone marrow-derived osteochondroprogenitor cells as an active ingredient.
BACTERIUM OF THE CHRISTENSENELLACEAE FAMILY FOR THE PREVENTION AND/OR TREATMENT OF CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASES AND/OR INFLAMMATORY GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASES AND/OR CANCERS
The invention relates to a bacterium of the Christensenellaceae family, in particular of the genus Christensenella, or a composition containing same for use in the prevention and/or treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases and/or cancers in humans or animals.
ANIMAL CELL GROWTH PROMOTER, CULTURE MEDIUM FOR ANIMAL CELL CULTURE, AND ANIMAL CELL CULTURE APPARATUS
The present invention aim at providing a novel animal cell growth promoter. Specifically, a culture supernatant of an embryonic membrane derived from an avian or reptilian fertilized egg is use as an animal cell growth promoter. For example, by adding, to an animal cell culture medium, an animal cell growth promoter comprising, as an active ingredient, a culture supernatant of an embryonic membrane derived from an avian or reptilian fertilized egg, the animal cell growth can be promoted.
Extracellular matrix compositions for the treatment of cancer or immunological diseases
The present invention is directed to methods of inhibiting cancer cell growth or proliferation by contacting the cancer cell with an extracellular matrix (ECM) composition. Also provided are methods of delivering a chemotherapeutic agent to a cancer cell by contacting a cancer cell with an extracellular matrix composition containing a chemotherapeutic agent. Also provided are compositions containing ECM and a chemotherapeutic agent.
YOLK EXTRACT SUPPLEMENTS FOR CULTURE MEDIA AND RELATED METHODS
Described herein is an egg yolk extract comprising freed/lysed yolk granules and/or yolk spheres. Also described is an egg yolk extract comprising the liquid contents of a shelled egg, wherein the liquid contents comprise yolk granules. Also described are an egg yolk extract comprising the liquid contents of yolk spheres; an egg yolk extract comprising the liquid contents of yolk granules; an egg yolk extract comprising ovalbumin and other anti-bactericidal proteins in egg white; and an egg yolk extract that supports cell proliferation at least equivalent to FBS when used at the same concentration in a cell culture medium. Related supplements, media, and methods are also described.
