The present invention relates to polypeptides having beta-glucanase activity, catalytic domains, beta-glucan binding domains and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, catalytic domains or beta-glucan binding domains. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods of producing and using the polypeptides, catalytic domains or beta-glucan binding domains.
Method for treating cotton
A method of treating cotton comprising: (i) contacting cotton with an aqueous wash liquor comprising water and an endo-β-1,3-glucanase enzyme; (ii) optionally rinsing the cotton; and (iii) drying the cotton. The wash liquor may contain surfactant. The cotton may be contacted with the aqueous wash liquor with agitation. The method may be for removal of callose from cotton. The method may be for the manufacture of a cotton-containing fabric having improved whiteness maintenance, soil repellency, reduced malodour, anti-wrinkle benefits, and/or improved drying.
METHOD FOR TREATING COTTON
A method of treating cotton comprising: (i) contacting cotton with an aqueous wash liquor comprising water and an endo--1,3-glucanase enzyme; (ii) optionally rinsing the cotton; and (iii) drying the cotton. The wash liquor may contain surfactant. The cotton may be contacted with the aqueous wash liquor with agitation. The method may be for removal of callose from cotton. The method may be for the manufacture of a cotton-containing fabric having improved whiteness maintenance, soil repellency, reduced malodour, anti-wrinkle benefits, and/or improved drying.
β-1,3-1,6-endoglucanase producing, from β-glucan, oligosaccharides or glucose
The present invention relates to a novel use of -1,3-1,6-endoglucanase producing oligosaccharides or glucose from -glucan. More specifically, the present invention provides an effect of producing oligosaccharides or glucose of various degrees of polymerization in high yields by using a -1,3-1,6-endoglucanase exhibiting -1,3-endoglucanase and -1,6-endoglucanase activity on -glucan and exhibiting transglycosylation activity on laminarioligosaccharide.
NOVEL B-1,3-1,6-ENDOGLUCANASE PRODUCING, FROM B-GLUCAN, OLIGOSACCHARIDES OR GLUCOSE
The present invention relates to a novel -1,3-1,6-endoglucanase producing, from -glucan, oligosaccharides or glucose.
GLUCANASES, NUCLEIC ACIDS ENCODING THEM AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING THEM
The invention relates to polypeptides having glucanase, e.g., endoglucanase, mannanase, xylanase activity or a combination of these activities, and polynucleotides encoding them. In one aspect, the glucanase activity is an endoglucanase activity (e.g., endo-1,4-beta-D-glucan 4-glucano hydrolase activity) and comprises hydrolysis of 1,4-beta-D-glycosidic linkages in cellulose, cellulose derivatives (e.g., carboxy methyl cellulose and hydroxy ethyl cellulose) lichenin, beta-1,4 bonds in mixed beta-1,3 glucans, such as cereal beta-D-glucans or xyloglucans and other plant material containing cellulosic parts. In addition, methods of designing new enzymes and methods of use thereof are also provided. In alternative aspects, the new glucanases e.g., endoglucanases, mannanases, xylanases have increased activity and stability, including thermotolerance or thermostability, at increased or decreased pHs and temperatures.
DEWATERING WHOLE STILLAGE
The invention relates to methods of dewatering of whole stillage derived from a fermentation product production process using yeast-degrading enzymes.
