Cooling box for a shaft furnace
A cooling box for a metallurgical furnace including an elongated hollow body extending from a front end, to an opposite rear end, the rear end being, in use, connected to a wall of the furnace; the body includes an inner chamber having a cooling circuit configured to receive a flow of coolant fluid therein between at least one inlet and at least one outlet; the cooling box further including at least one partition plate fitted in the inner chamber through a form-fit connection to form the cooling circuit.
COOLING PLATE FOR A METALLURGICAL FURNACE
A metallurgical furnace cooling plate includes a cooling plate body with front and rear faces and at least one coolant channel inside the body, which communicates with a rear opening on the rear face; and a connection pipe connected to the body so that a pipe channel of the connection pipe communicates with the coolant channel, the connection pipe adapted for carrying coolant fluid to or from the channel.
The body includes a receiving bore extending in a bore direction from the rear opening into the coolant channel, the channel being spaced in the bore direction from the rear face by a cover thickness of a cover portion and extends in the bore direction over a width. A connection pipe end portion extends into the receiving bore beyond the cover thickness and is form-fittingly received in the receiving bore along at least a portion of a width of the channel.
METHOD FOR DETECTING FLUCTUATION OF SOLIDIFIED LAYER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING BLAST FURNACE
A method for detecting a fluctuation of a solidified layer, and a method for operating a blast furnace by employing the relevant method. In the method for detecting a fluctuation of a solidified layer, the fluctuation of the solidified layer in the lower part of a blast furnace is detected by using the amount of heat supplied to pig iron in the lower part of the blast furnace and the amount of heat in the pig iron tapped in a predetermined period.
BLAST FURNACE COOLING PLATE WITH INTEGRATED WEAR DETECTION SYSTEM
A cooling plate for a metallurgical furnace comprising a body (12) with a front face (18) and an opposite rear face (20), the body having at least one coolant channel (14) therein; the front face (18) being turned towards the furnace interior and preferably comprises alternating ribs (22) and grooves (24). The cooling plate includes wear detection means comprising: a plurality of closed pressure chambers (26, 28) distributed at different locations in said body, said pressure chambers being positioned at predetermined depths below the front face (18) of said body; and a pressure sensor (30) associated with each pressure chamber (26, 28) in order to detect a deviation from a reference pressure inside said pressure chamber when the latter becomes open due to wear out of said body.
MULTIPLE-CHANNEL REFRIGERATED PANEL FOR BLAST FURNACES AND OTHER INDUSTRIAL FURNACES
This present invention is a cooled panel (23) used on the walls of blast furnaces (1) and other industrial furnaces consisting of a body (25) of copper, cast iron or other metal alloy, independent internal cooling channels (24) and protection sleeves (26) attached to the panel body and the pipes (27) that link the couplings to the internal cooling channels (24). The cooled panel (23) features the amount of internal cooling channels (24) greater than the number of coupling sets (31), which are connected to the furnace water system feeding and return (35).
Smelting process and apparatus
A smelting vessel includes a plurality of heat pipes (21) positioned in a refractory lining of at least a part of the hearth (9) for cooling at least a part of the refractory lining. At least one of the heat pipes includes (a) a liquid phase of a heat transfer fluid, typically water, in a lower section of the heat pipe and (b) a vapor phase of the heat transfer fluid, typically steam, in an upper section of the heat pipe. The heat pipe also includes a vent to allow vapour phase to escape from the heat pipe to reduce the pressure or the temperature within the heat pipe when the vapour pressure or the temperature in the heat pipe exceeds a predetermined threshold pressure or temperature.
Copper cooling plate with multilayer protrusions comprising wear resistant material, for a blast furnace
A cooling plate for use in a blast furnace is described. The cooling plate has a copper body having an inner face containing ribs parallel therebetween, having first extremities and separated by grooves having second extremities. At least one of these grooves containing at least a part of a multilayer protrusion extending between its second extremities and having at least one layer made of a wear resistant material that increases locally the wear resistance of the neighboring ribs.
Cooling panel for metallurgical furnace
A cooling panel for a metallurgical furnace includes a body with a front face and an opposite rear face, a top face and an opposite bottom face and two opposite side faces. The body has at least one cooling channel therein, the cooling channel having openings in the rear face; wherein, in use, the front face of the body is turned towards a furnace interior. According to the invention, the cooling panel having at least one cooling pipe arranged in at least one elongate recess formed in the front face, where the cooling pipe has an elongate middle section and at either end thereof, an angled branch, the cooling pipe forming the cooling channel, and where the cooling pipe is arranged in the elongate recess such that the angled branches protrude through the openings in the rear face of the body.
