The system may include non-contact temperature sensors within the quench box that measure the temperature part surface, and spray nozzles within the quench box that spray the part with a quenching fluid. The system may include a controller in electronic communication with the mechanical arms, the spray nozzles, the thermocouples, and the non-contact temperature sensors, that is configured to initiate a quenching process, receive temperature data, analyze the temperature data to determine a temperature difference value, determine that the temperature difference value exceeds a threshold temperature difference value, and adjust the quenching process if the temperature difference value exceeds the threshold temperature difference value.

Spring induction heater

A spring induction heater assembly is shown and described. The device has a quench tank incorporated into the design. A motor and drive mechanism provide rotation of a spring about one axis from a first position used for loading, to a second position for heat treatment with an induction coil and a third position where the spring is released dropped into a quench tank. Another rotational system is operational to rotate the spring on a spindle in the second or horizontal position while the spring is located between at least two legs of an induction coil. The induction coil provides even heating to the spring coils thereby providing desired changes to the material properties. The quench tank can have an automated system to remove the springs from the quench tank.

In a cryogenic workbench, a cryogenic laser peening system and a control method, a tapered surface gap d is adjusted, based on the electromagnetic principle, to control the gasification volume of liquid nitrogen, then the temperatures of the copious cooling workbench and the surface of a sample are precisely controlled by means of the adjustment of the heat absorption amount of liquid nitrogen gasification, the temperature adjustment range and the temperature rising/lowering rate of the cryogenic laser peening system are effectively extended, and the precision of the control of the surface temperature of the sample is increased in combination with a closed-loop control. Additionally, an intelligent control of a cryogenic laser peening process is realized by means of a computer and a PLC control unit, whereby the usage amount of liquid nitrogen in the experiment process is reduced and the processing efficiency is improved.
