Provided is a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having both low iron loss and good magnetostrictive properties, with which a transformer having excellent properties can be manufactured. The grain-oriented electrical steel sheet of the present disclosure has a linear strain region extending linearly in a direction intersecting the rolling direction, where the linear strain region has a region having compressive stress in the rolling direction, and a region adjacent in a rolling direction to the region having compressive stress has a region having tensile stress in the rolling direction.

To form linear grooves of desired groove width on a metal strip surface and provide a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having excellent magnetic properties, a linear groove formation method comprises: forming a resist coating on at least one surface of a metal strip; thereafter irradiating the resist coating with a laser while scanning the laser in a direction crossing a rolling direction of the metal strip, to remove the resist coating in a part irradiated with the laser; and thereafter performing etching treatment to form a linear groove in a part of the metal strip in which the resist coating is removed, wherein the resist coating contains a predetermined amount of an inorganic compound, and on the surface of the metal strip, the laser has a predetermined elliptic beam shape.

A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet according to the present invention has a steel sheet surface provided with grooves. An average protrusion height of the surface protrusion extending along a longitudinal direction of the groove is more than 5 μm and not more than 10 μm. When the surface protrusion is viewed in a cross section including the longitudinal direction of the groove and a normal direction of the steel sheet surface, the surface protrusion includes specific portions each having a height of 50% or more with respect to a height of each peak point appearing on a profile line of the surface protrusion. In the longitudinal direction of the groove, the total length of the specific portions is a length of 30% or more with respect to an overall length of the surface protrusion.

The present disclosure provides a manufacturing method and a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet manufactured thereby, the manufacturing method comprising the steps of: heating a slab; hot rolling the heated slab so as to manufacture a hot-rolled sheet; cold rolling the hot-rolled sheet so as to manufacture a cold-rolled sheet; decarburizing and annealing the cold-rolled steel sheet; forming a ceramic coating layer on a portion or the whole of one surface or two sides of the decarburized and annealed cold-rolled sheet by using a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process; and finally annealing the cold-rolled sheet on which the ceramic coating layer is formed.

[Problem] To provide a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet which is further improved in terms of iron loss before magnetic domain control, while achieving a sufficient iron loss improvement effect even in the control of a heat-resistant magnetic domain where a sufficient iron loss improvement effect has not been achieved. [Solution] A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet according to one aspect of the present invention comprises abase steel sheet and a glass coating that is formed on the surface of the base steel sheet, and is characterized in that: the base steel sheet contains as chemical components, in mass %, 0.010% or less of C, from 2.00% to 4.00% of Si, from 0.05% to 1.00% of Mn, from 0.010% to 0.065% of Al, 0.004% or less of N and 0.010% or less of S, with the balance being made up of Fe and impurities; the oxygen concentration in the glass coating and the base steel sheet is 2,500 ppm or less; and if I.sub.Al_1 is the first peak intensity of Al and I.sub.Al_2 is the second peak intensity of Al in the concentration profile of Al, the relationship of mathematical formula (1) is satisfied.

Manufacturing method for high silicon grain oriented electrical steel sheet

Disclosed is a manufacturing method for a high silicon grain oriented electrical steel sheet, the silicon content of the high silicon grain oriented electrical steel is greater than 4 wt %, comprising the steps of: (1) performing decarburization annealing of a cold-rolled steel plate; (2) allowing high silicon alloy particles in a completely solid state to collide at a high speed with the surface of the decarburization annealed steel plate to be sprayed, thus forming a high silicon alloy coating on the surface of the steel plate to be sprayed; (3) coating a release agent and drying; and (4) annealing. The manufacturing method for the high silicon grain oriented electrical steel sheet of the present invention is inexpensive, and, the high silicon grain oriented electrical steel sheet produced is of stable quality and is provided with great magnetic performance.
