METHOD AND INDUSTRIAL PLANT FOR SEPERATING A WASTE MATERIAL

A method and an industrial plant for separating a waste material comprises at least one metal and at least one organic material. A separated fraction of the waste material is provisioned which is isolated from the waste material in the course of a mechanical preparation operation. The separated fraction comprises briquettes produced from the waste material, and optionally a coarse fraction of the waste material or of another waste material. A reactor is charged with the separated fraction and gas containing oxygen is introduced into the reactor and the separated fraction is combusted in an incomplete combustion process. The separated fraction is melted into a liquid slag phase and into a liquid metal-containing phase. The slag phase and/or the metal-containing phase are poured off from the reactor.

Titanium-containing calcium hexaaluminate material and preparation method thereof

A titanium-containing calcium hexaaluminate material and preparation method thereof is disclosed. The technical solution is: using 60˜80 wt % alumina micro powder, 5˜20 wt % calcium-containing micro powder, 10˜20 wt % titania micro powder and 1˜10 wt % manganese oxide micro powder as raw materials, blending the raw materials evenly in a planetary ball mill to obtain a blend, machine pressing the blend at 100˜200 MPa to obtain a green body, drying the green body at 110˜200° C. for 12˜36 h, and incubating the dried green body at 1500˜1800° C. for 1˜8 h to obtain the titanium-containing calcium hexaaluminate material. The present disclosure has low cost and simple process, and the prepared titanium-containing calcium hexaaluminate material has the characteristics of good chemical stability, high thermal shock resistance and strong melt resistance to titanium-aluminum alloy.

System and method for melting light gauge scrap
09803922 · 2017-10-31 · ·

An exemplary furnace system for melting stock metal includes a main hearth and a side well subsystem, which includes a melting well disposed downstream of the main hearth for receiving flow from the main hearth, an input flow inducer disposed upstream of the melting well and downstream of the main hearth, and an output flow inducer disposed downstream of the melting well and upstream of the main hearth. The input flow inducer drives molten metal into the melting well, thereby forming a differential metal head in the melting well. The output flow inducer evacuates molten metal from an output conduit, thereby reducing counter-pressure at an output port of the melting well communicating with the output conduit. This allows atmospheric pressure to add to the differential metal head in the melting well, resulting in an increase in productivity of the side well subsystem and of the furnace system as a whole.

TITANIUM CASTING PRODUCT FOR HOT ROLLING AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Provided is a titanium cast product made of commercially pure titanium, the titanium cast product being produced by electron-beam remelting or plasma arc melting, comprising: a melted and resolidified layer in a range of 1 mm or more in depth at a surface serving as a surface to be rolled, the melted and resolidified layer being obtained by adding one or more kinds of β stabilizer elements to the surface and melting and resolidifying the surface. An average value of β stabilizer element(s) concentration in a range of within 1 mm in depth is higher than β stabilizer element(s) concentration in a base material by, in mass %, equal to or more than 0.08 mass % and equal to or less than 1.50 mass %. As the material containing the β stabilizer element, powder, a chip, wire, or foil is used. As means for melting a surface layer, electron-beam heating and plasma arc heating are used.
