Copper alloys exhibiting enhanced oxidation resistance are provided by adding an amount of sulfur that is effective to enhance oxidative resistance. Such sulfur addition can be achieved by combining elemental forms of copper and sulfur and heating the mixture to form a molten alloy, or by forming a sulfur-rich pre-mix that is added to a base alloy composition. Forming a pre-mix provides improved homogeneity and distribution of the sulfur predominantly in the form of a metal sulfide.

SINTERABLE METAL PASTE FOR USE IN ADDITIVE MANFACTURING

A material and method are disclosed such that the material can be used to form functional metal pieces by producing an easily sintered layered body of dried metal paste. On a microstructural level, when dried, the metal paste creates a matrix of porous metal scaffold particles with infiltrant metal particles, which are positioned interstitially in the porous scaffold's interstitial voids. For this material to realize mechanical and processing benefits, the infiltrant particles are chosen such that they pack in the porous scaffold piece in a manner which does not significantly degrade the packing of the scaffold particles and so that they can also infiltrate the porous scaffold on heating. The method of using this paste provides a technique deposition/removal process.

Sputtering target material

A sputtering target material contains one kind or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of Ag, As, Pb, Sb, Bi, Cd, Sn, Ni, and Fe in a range of 5 massppm or more and 50 massppm or less, in terms of a total content; and a balance consisting of Cu and an inevitable impurity. In the sputtering target material, in a case in which an average crystal grain size calculated as an area average without twins is denoted by X1 (μm), and a maximum intensity of pole figure is denoted by X2, upon an observation with an electron backscatter diffraction method, Expression (1): 2500>19×X1+290×X2 is satisfied, a kernel average misorientation (KAM) of a crystal orientation measured by an electron backscatter diffraction method is 2.0° or less, and a relative density is 95% or more.
