METHOD OF CONTACTLESS OPTICAL DETECTION OF YARN AT A WORKSTATION OF A YARN MANUFACTURING TEXTILE MACHINE, AN OPTICAL SENSOR OF YARN AND A TEXTILE MACHINE
A method is provided for contactless optical detection of yarn at a workstation of a textile machine in which the yarn moves in a sensing slot between a source of radiation and an optical sensor having at least one row of radiation sensitive elements, whereby shading of the individual radiation sensitive elements by yarn moving through the sensing slot is monitored and a state of the yarn is evaluated on a basis of the monitoring. The method monitors and evaluates a position of the yarn in the sensing slot or a time course of the position of the yarn in the sensing slot. A change is detected in the position or in the time course of the position of the yarn in the sensing slot corresponding to a yarn break before an end of the yarn break passes through the sensing slot. When the yarn break is sensed, a stop signal is generated for the workstation.

A yarn spinning and/or twisting machine with multiple balls, comprising a yarn-feeding means (1), a yarn collection means for the yarn (4) with a rotation axis (V), a yarn guide (8) located between the yarn-feeding means (1) and the yarn collection means (4), means for the generation of the diameter of the ball (DB), motorised means linked to the yarn collection means (4), where the internal diameter of the yarn guide (8) is greater than the diameter of standard yarn guides (8) for each type of yarn, and smaller than 1.1 times the diameter of the ball generator (DB). Preferably, the internal diameter of the yarn guide (8) is between 0.01 and 0.9 times the diameter of the ball generator (DB). Preferably, the yarn spinning and/or twisting machine comprises several yarn guides (8, 8, 8), at least one of these with an internal diameter greater than the diameter of the standard yarn guide (8) for each type of yarn and smaller than 1.1 times the diameter of the ball generator (DB).

A method and apparatus for detecting leaks and/or blockages in a spinning unit of a spinning apparatus of a spinning machine. The method can comprise: setting the spinning machine wherein compressed air valves are set to an open state to release a compressed air flow feed to the spinning unit, switching on a compressed air source provided that the compressed air source is switched off, closing the compressed air valves one after the other in a defined order, wherein each time a compressed air valve is closed, the compressed air flow value is measured and transmitted to an evaluation device and assigned to the spinning unit assigned to the air valve and is compared with a specified limit value or limit value range, and identifying and assessing whether compressed air flow values of which deviate from the limit value or limit value range.
