A method for optimizing the operation of a spinning machine with regard to quality and productivity is provided. An apparatus, comprising a control device and the spinning machine is provided. A yarn having specified yarn properties is produced, a quality parameter of the yarn is sensed during the spinning operation, a parameter for setting the production speed is specified, the quality parameter and the parameter for setting the production speed are evaluated, and the production speed is set in dependence on a target variable, the target variable comprising the quality parameter.

A method is provided for determining a functional status at a workstation of a textile machine that includes a plurality of the workstations, wherein each workstation includes at least one drive associated with a treatment device configured at the workstation to treat a fiber material. The method includes measuring a load variable of the drive and determining the functional status of the treatment device based on the measured load variable.

The invention relates to a method for operating a textile machine (1) with a multiple number of similar work stations (2), whereas, with the assistance of work stations (2) during the normal operation of the same, yarn is produced or is rewound by a delivery coil onto a receiver coil, and whereas normal operation is initiated at the individual work stations (2) after a stop of the textile machine (1), or is interrupted at certain time intervals by a service operation in the form of a spinning-in process, a sleeve changing process or a yarn joining process. A textile machine and related method of operation include a plurality of adjacently arranged workstations divided into a plurality of sections, each workstation having a plurality of communication-capable units, and each section comprising at least two section busses and a section control system. The communication-capable units of the workstations in the section are in communication with the section control system via one of the section busses. A first portion of the communication-capable units of the workstations in each section are configured in communication with a first one of the section busses and a second portion of the communication-capable units of the workstations in the same section are configured in communication with a second one of the section busses.

A method is provided for operating a spinning machine or winder that includes a plurality of same-kind workstations and a plurality of input terminals situated with the workstations. The method includes at least intermittently configuring at least one of the input terminals as a master terminal. Commands are entered for operation of all or a group of the workstations via the master terminal. Designation of the master terminal is changed to one or more different ones of the input terminals at different points in time. A textile machine and associated method are provided for operating the textile machine that includes a plurality of workstations, wherein each workstation includes at least one stepper motor configured to drive an element at the workstation. The method includes measuring a load variable, for example a load angle, of the stepper motor and detecting an approach of the element to an end position based on changes to the load variable.

A method is provided for operating a textile machine having a plurality of identical workstations wherein, during a normal operation of the workstations, yarn is produced or rewound from a supply bobbin onto a receiving bobbin at the workstations. After a stoppage at a plurality of the work stations, the method includes starting and setting the plurality of workstation into a normal operating mode. The method includes dividing the plurality of workstations into groups of workstations, and starting up the groups of workstations at different predefined times, such as predefined waiting times between consecutive groups of the work stations.

A method is provided for operating a textile machine having a plurality of identical workstations wherein, during a normal operation of the workstations, yarn is produced or rewound from a supply bobbin onto a receiving bobbin at the workstations.
