The invention provides a seat belt (10) for a motor vehicle comprising a webbing (12) that includes at least one chamber (24) in which at least one electric, especially band-shaped, heating element (26) is accommodated. The invention further provides a method for manufacturing such seat belt (10).

Webbing construction

The webbing construction absorbs stress and pressures on the edge of the webbing. The webbing locks into various hardware or an adjustment bar along the length of the webbing, such as every 1/32″ for slippage control of the webbing. The webbing of the present invention reduces the memory of folds made over a long period of time with a long shelf life. The webbing construction of the present invention can be used in a wide array of applications, such as for clothing belts, seat belt webbing, watch bands, backpacks, straps and the like. As a result, the webbing of the present invention addresses the shortcomings of the prior art to provide a superior webbing construction.

Wear and performance sling with hybrid material webbiing

A webbing for use with a tiedown or sling which has overall increase strength efficiency when compared to known tiedowns or slings which use texturized yarn. The webbing contains non-texturized yarn material having reduced elongation characteristics in the core, combined with non-texturized yarn having higher elongation and improved wear characteristics on the exterior surfaces.

Webbing for fall protection device

A webbing for use in a fall protection device, such as a self-retracting lifeline having leading edge capabilities, is provided having a double cloth construction with the exterior of the webbing constructed of woven, UV-resistant, liquid-crystal aromatic polyester yarns and having stuffer yarns positioned in the interior of the fabric, wherein the stuffer yarns are made of high-tenacity fibers, having a melting point of 280° C. or greater. The webbing meets ANSI Standard Z359.14 for leading edge applications, and is arc-flash protective in compliance with ASTM F887.

SEAT BELT HEATING ASSEMBLY AND SEAT

A seat-belt heating assembly and a seat are provided. The seat-belt heating assembly includes a safety belt body and a safety-belt heating mechanism connected to the safety belt body. The seat includes a safety belt body, a seat body, a heating component, and a control component. The heating component includes a heating mechanism provided in the safety belt body. In the use state, the heating mechanism has one end terminating in the safety belt body at the front end of the fixing member, and the other end terminating in the safety belt body at the front end of the retractor. The control component includes an ECU heating controller, a safety-belt heating switch, and an insertion detection unit configured to detect whether the latch is inserted into the buckle. Each of the safety-belt heating switch, the insertion detection unit, and the heating mechanism is connected to the ECU heating controller.

SAFETY BELT WEBBING FOR A VEHICLE

A safety belt webbing for a vehicle includes a woven fabric from mutually intersecting warp and weft threads. The woven fabric is at least partially configured in the weave repeat with at least 6, preferably at least 8 ends. The weave repeat per warp thread includes at least four, preferably six, intersection points with the weft threads. The intersection points are weave points resulting between the warp and the weft threads when the warp thread within the weave repeat alternates from a warp elevation to a warp depression, or vice versa. Within the weave repeat the largest warp float per warp thread is across two weft threads, and the maximum warp depression is below two weft threads. Within the weave repeat, per warp thread there is at least one warp elevation additionally to the warp float across a weft thread, and at least one warp depression below a weft thread.

OCCUPANT RESTRAINT BELT WEBBING, SEAT BELT, AND SEAT BELT DEVICE

An occupant restraint belt webbing forms an occupant restraint belt to restrain a vehicle occupant, and includes a plurality of warp yarns and a plurality of weft yarns. The plurality of warp yarns and the plurality of weft yarns are woven so as to extend orthogonally to each other. The warp yarns include an infrared light absorption yarn, and a thickness of the infrared light absorption yarn differs from a thickness of each yarn of the plurality of wrap yarns other than the infrared light absorption yarn.

SEATBELT WEBBING INCLUDING AUXETIC PORTION

A seatbelt webbing includes an auxetic portion elongated along an axis. The auxetic portion includes a plurality of segments rotatably connected to each other at hinges. The hinges are spaced along the axis and are transverse to the axis. The auxetic portion includes a plurality of strands. Each strand is embedded in at least two of the hinges. When tensile force above a predetermined level is applied to the auxetic portion by a vehicle occupant, e.g., the chest of the vehicle occupant, the auxetic portion both stretches along the axis and widens transverse to the axis, i.e., has a negative Poisson ratio.

STRAP FOR SLING AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH A STRAP AND USE OF SUCH STRAP

A strap is provided, intended for a sling for persons, where the strap is elongated with short end edges and longer lateral edges and comprises a first belt and a second belt. Each belt includes an inside and an outside, where the insides are turned towards one another, and the outsides are turned away from one another. The first belt and the second belt include warps and wefts. The strap has a longitudinal direction that is parallel to the warps, and a transverse direction that is parallel to the wefts. In the longitudinal direction of the strap there are a number of first sections, where the first belt and the second belt are interwoven, and second sections are provided between them, where the first belt and the second belt are not interwoven, so that an eye is formed in each of the second sections.
