A method of manufacturing an article may include loading a soluble bobbin thread into an embroidery machine and then driving a needle thread through a base sheet with a needle of the embroidery machine according to a programmed first pattern that provides a series of loops of the needle thread extending outward from a bobbin side of the base sheet. The method may further include bonding the needle thread to a needle side of the base sheet opposite from the bobbin side. A spacer layer may be disposed at the bobbin side of the base sheet, and may be removed after the needle thread is bonded to the base sheet. The loops may be loops of a hook-and-loop fastener or ball control features in various articles manufactured according to the method.

Stabilization of looped fabric surfaces by fine-scale embossing
A fabric made of yarns interlooping with each other or passing through an inner layer at looping intervals. The fabric is embossed with a micro-pattern extending into the yarns or into a layer underneath the fabric. The micro-pattern contains a pre-defined pattern of a plurality of binding points attaching the yarns to the inner layer or to the added underlayer. This micro-pattern has an inter-point spacing between adjacent binding points that is less than the interlooping intervals. The fabric can also be embossed with a macro-pattern separate from and coarser than the micro-pattern. The macro-pattern establishes a desired aesthetic in the fabric, and the micro-pattern does not interfere with the desired aesthetic.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DECORATIVE LAYER OF VEHICLE INTERIOR TRIM AND VEHICLE INTERIOR TRIM
A method for manufacturing a vehicle interior trim decorative layer. The method includes: a die cutting step during which at least two parts to be sewn are die cut from a flat film, each of the at least two parts to be sewn having an outer surface and an inner surface opposite to the outer surface; a gluing step during which an adhesion agent is applied, by means of a roller coating machine, on the inner surface of each part to be sewn, and a sewing step during which all parts to be sewn are sewn together along a sewing line by means of a sewing machine so as to form a 3D shaped decorative layer. The decorative layer can be used with a substrate to form a vehicle interior trim. The method enables manufacturing of a 3D shaped decorative layer using a roller coating machine.
