ONE STAGE METHOD FOR ACID METAL REMOVAL AND BLEACH
There is provided a process for chemically pretreating reclaimed cellulose fibres to be used in the production of moulded bodies from regenerated cellulose, wherein the pretreatment includes one stage, in which stage acid metal removal and acid oxidative bleaching are carried out together. Advantages include that the propensity of the regenerated cellulose to clog when flowing in a tube and through a nozzle is reduced. This is believed to be an effect of an efficient metal removal. The need for additional bleaching steps and/or metal removing steps is reduced or even eliminated. A one-stage method is more efficient, faster and less costly compared to a multi-stage method according to the prior art. From an environmental perspective, acidic metal removal is preferred over removal by chelating agents such as EDTA.
Liquid crystalline polyester fiber and method for producing the same
A liquid-crystal polyether fiber with high tensile strength has an ash content of 0.3 percent by weight or less, a degree of fusion (f) of 3 or less, and a tensile strength of 18 cN/dtex or more. The liquid-crystal polyether fiber has few residues of an anti-fusion agent and causes no fusion between filaments.
Composite nanofiber membrane for adsorbing lithium, method of manufacturing the same and apparatus and method for recovering lithium using the same
Disclosed are a composite nanofiber membrane for the adsorption of lithium, a method for preparing the same, and a lithium recovery apparatus and method using the same. The composite nanofiber membrane for the adsorption of lithium is immobilized with manganese oxide selectively adsorptive of lithium. The composite nanofiber membrane for lithium adsorption exhibits high selectivity for lithium ions and allows for the rapid and easy diffusion of lithium ions through interstitial spaces of the adsorbent. Particularly, the lithium recovery apparatus using the composite nanofiber membrane for lithium adsorption is able to effectively adsorb lithium ions dissolved in seawater in a selective manner within a short period of time, thus reducing the time taken for the adsorption process.
Fire-retardant compositions
Disclosed is a method for the use, as fire-retardant, of an aqueous composition including chitosan and at least one mineral filler, the inorganic filler being for example chosen from the group of mineral fillers in laminae, in particular chosen from the group consisting of talc, montmorillonite, saponite, sepiolite, bentonite, smectite, hectorite, kaolinite, halloysite and mica, and mixtures thereof.
Thermal insulation sheet and manufacturing method therefor
A thermal insulation sheet is used that includes a fiber, a silica aerogel contained in the fiber, and a fibrous cavity. A method for manufacturing a thermal insulation sheet is used that includes: an impregnation step of impregnating a silica aerosol in a nonwoven fabric substrate containing a fiber that is insoluble in an acidic solution, and a fiber that is soluble in the acidic solution; a gelling step of gelling the silica aerosol; a hydrophobizing step of hydrophobizing the gel; and a drying step of drying the gel. The fiber that is soluble in the acidic solution is dissolved in the hydrophobizing step.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING CELL-CULTURING POLYVINYL ALCOHOL NANOFIBER STRUCTURE
The present disclosure provides a method for producing a cell-culturing polyvinyl alcohol-based nanofiber structure, the method comprising: electrospinning an electrospun solution to form a nanofiber mat, wherein the electrospun solution contains polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyacrylic acid (PA) and glutaraldehyde (GA); crosslinking the nanofiber mat via a hydrochloric acid (HCl) vapor treatment; and treating the crosslinked nanofiber mat with dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent to crystallize the nanofiber mat.
Temperature management bedding systems
Temperature management bedding systems for mattresses and quilt panels generally include a trilayer of active components including a phase change material applied to a top surface of a flexible substrate thereof, a fire retardant layer underlying the flexible substrate including hydrophilic rayon fibers treated with ammonium polyphosphate; and a vertically oriented fiber batting layer underlying the first retardant layer including an elastomeric binder. The temperature management bedding systems provide heat control and mass transfer of moisture from the bedding surface.
