FABRIC AND PROTECTIVE PRODUCT
The invention addresses the problem of providing a cloth and a protective product, which are excellent not only in flame retardancy but also in protection performance against electric arcs, and can further be provided with any color appearance. As a means for resolution, in a cloth including a flame-retardant fiber, a UV absorber or carbon particles are contained in the cloth, and the cloth is configured to have a lightness index L-value of 25 or more.
PLANT BASED ANTI-MICROBIAL FABRIC TREATMENT, TREATED FABRICS, AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A process for effectively binding plant-based antimicrobials to various fabrics which provides for long term antimicrobial effect of the fabric and the resultant fabric.
Finish composition
Provided is a composition for the treatment of fibers, such as PAN precursor fibers. The finish composition includes a polysiloxane; an emulsifier; water; and a dicarboxylic acid having a pK.sub.a from 1 to 4, and boiling point from 200 to 400° C. The dicarboxylic acid may have the following formula: ##STR00001##
where R.sub.1 is absent or a saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, aromatic substituted or unsubstituted, hydrocarbon group; Y.sub.1 and Y.sub.2 are independently hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, phosphorus, C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkyl group, or an alkoxy group; and X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are independently one or more hydrogen atoms, a metal, a quaternary amine, or a hydrocarbon group having up to 6 carbon atoms, the hydrocarbon group being an alkyl group, an alkylene group, or an aromatic group, which may be branched or linear, and may optionally have one or more heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and phosphorus.

ONE STAGE METHOD FOR ACID METAL REMOVAL AND BLEACH
There is provided a process for chemically pretreating reclaimed cellulose fibres to be used in the production of moulded bodies from regenerated cellulose, wherein the pretreatment includes one stage, in which stage acid metal removal and acid oxidative bleaching are carried out together. Advantages include that the propensity of the regenerated cellulose to clog when flowing in a tube and through a nozzle is reduced. This is believed to be an effect of an efficient metal removal. The need for additional bleaching steps and/or metal removing steps is reduced or even eliminated. A one-stage method is more efficient, faster and less costly compared to a multi-stage method according to the prior art. From an environmental perspective, acidic metal removal is preferred over removal by chelating agents such as EDTA.
ANTIBACTERIAL AND DEODORIZING FINISHING AGENT COMPOSITION USING ECO-FRIENDLY BIOPOLYMER
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a textile finishing agent based on an eco-friendly, renewable, and biodegradable biopolymer, and, specifically, to a method for preparing a textile finishing agent, comprising the steps of: forming, at room temperature, a solution comprising an organic acid and the balance of a solvent; stirring chitosan and a base solvent in the solution; and preparing a solution in which a mineral material is dissolved.
