CUT-RESISTANT YARN STRUCTURE
Apparatuses and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide for cut-resistant yarn structures. An example cut-resistant yarn structure includes a first cut-resistant core filament a second cut-resistant core filament. The yarn structure further includes a first covering yarn that is wound over the first cut-resistant core filament and the second cut-resistant core filament. The first covering yarn includes a core-spun yarn in which staple fibers are spun over a third cut-resistant core filament. The yarn structure also includes one or more covering layers wound over the first covering yarn that may serve as the exterior layer for the cut-resistant yarn structure. In some instances, the first and second cut-resistant core filaments include a core-spun yarn in which staple fibers are spun over the first cut-resistant core filament and/or the second cut-resistant core filament.
TEXTILES HAVING A MICROSTRUCTURED SURFACE AND GARMENTS COMPRISING THE SAME
The present invention relates to textile articles and clothing such as outdoor garments, indoor garments, and commercial protective wear exposed to contact mixtures of water and oil, swimwear and winter wear exposed to mixtures of water and air. At least part of these textile articles possess a surface provided with at least one of 1) a high surface area, 2) hierarchical pattern, 3) contact angles such that hydrophilic portion of a contact mixture possesses a high contact angle and the hydrophobic portion of a contact mixture possesses a low contact angle, and 4) hysteresis angle greater than 5 degrees. Hydrophobic/Hydrophilic contact mixtures of the present invention can be surfaces where water and or ice are present in combination with oil and or air. The textile articles of the present invention resist slippage on surfaces possessing hydrophobic/hydrophilic contact mixtures.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PRODUCT PROVIDED WITH A CAVITY, PRODUCT AND SYSTEM FOR THE MANUFACTURE THEREOF
The product manufactured according to the method is waterproof and provided with a cavity, such as a glove, shoe, or a backpack. Initially, a structure is made in the shape of the product by stitching portions of a laminated material attached together by corresponding seams. The stitched structure is then turned inside out and a thermally-curable silicone compound material, in uncured liquid state, is applied on the seams. The structure with applications is then simultaneously subjected to heating with a curing temperature of the material, and to a vacuum operation with pumping means that suck in air from outside the structure with applications into the structure and extract it outside. The invention also relates to a system for manufacturing according to the method.
