CONTINUOUS PILOT SCALE HYDROTHERMAL HORIZONTAL REACTOR DESIGN FOR MAKING INDUSTRIAL BY-PRODUCTS
The presently disclosed subject matter relates to a horizontal reactor system that can be used for processing various plant material biomass to produce fermentable carbohydrates, paper and pulp products, or both. Particularly, the disclosed system comprises a horizontal reactor vessel comprising a body with first and second ends. The reaction vessel is intended to encompass and retain a reaction medium (i.e., biomass slurry) that is to undergo a biological and/or biochemical reaction. The vessel comprises an internal agitator that functions to mix the contents of the reactor. The agitator is powered by a drive, which can be a motor, positioned outside the reaction vessel.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HYDROLYSIS OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC MATERIALS
The invention relates to a method for extraction of saccharides from a lignocellulose containing material and comprises the steps of mixing the lignocellulose containing material with an acidic water solution to create a slurry having a pH value in the interval of 0-4; controlling the water content of the slurry to obtain a specific dry solid content of more than 30%; and introducing the slurry into an apparatus and performing an acid hydrolysis of the slurry in the apparatus, wherein at least parts of the apparatus that come into contact with the slurry are made of a material that comprises iron in an amount of at least 50% by weight and nickel in an amount of at least 1.5% by weight. The invention relates also to an apparatus for performing said method.
Discharge valve with a detachable inner lining
A discharge valve is disclosed which includes a valve housing which can be functionally connected to a process element having a pressurized interior space. The valve housing includes a flow channel having a longitudinal center axis (A) and is in working cooperation with a valve member. The flow channel is arranged to be in fluid communication with the pressurized interior space in the process element after the discharge valve has been connected to the process element. The valve member is displaceable between an open position and a closed position in a displacement direction (B) whereby the discharge valve can be opened and closed. The flow channel comprises a detachable inner lining having an envelope wall, and the detachable inner lining comprises an aperture extending through the envelope wall and through which the valve member is adapted to run when being displaced between the opened and closed positions.
