A HYDROCYCLONE WITH AN IMPROVED FLUID INJECTION MEMBER

A hydrocyclone having a mid-section having a longitudinal axis and a radius, and a fluid injection member releasably connected to the mid-section. The fluid injection member has a dilution passage therethrough and two spaced apart dilution ports, at least one dilution port being at an angle between 15 and 75 degrees relative to the mid-section radius. The injection member comprises a nozzle housing releasably connected to the mid-section, the nozzle housing having a dilution passage therethrough, and a nozzle adapted to be connected to the nozzle housing, the nozzle being planar and having at least one dilution port therethrough, the nozzle being receivable within the dilution passage.

PROCESSING OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC BIOMASS

A plant and process for performing thermolysis of cellulose uses a thermolysis reactor which comprises a reactor duct having a longitudinal axis, and an eductor at one end of the reactor duct. The eductor has an entry chamber and a venturi-shaped exit channel, a nozzle, a sloping deflector plate above the nozzle, and an inlet port through which particulate material may be fed onto the deflector plate and into the entry chamber. The nozzle and the venturi-shaped exit channel are aligned with the longitudinal axis. A superheater provides superheated steam at a temperature above 450° C. to flow through the nozzle. The particulate matter is entrained in the flowing steam, and undergoes thermolysis. This may be combined with a pre-treatment to hydrolyse hemicellulose, so that lignocellulosic biomass can be processed.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING STRONG AND SOFT TISSUE AND TOWEL PRODUCTS
20170275820 · 2017-09-28 ·

A process for manufacturing a web material is disclosed. The process generally provides the steps of: a. providing a pulp material comprising fibers and vessels; b. separating said vessels from said fibers in said pulp material to form a slurry having at least about 7 percent less vessels per meter than said pulp material; and c. processing said slurry to form said web material.

Method of preparing recycled cellulosic fibers to improve paper production

A system for treating recycled cellulosic fibers to improve paper, board and tissue quality; the system involves fractionating recycled fibers into a short fiber portion and a long fiber portion. The short fiber portion is split into an original short fiber portion and a refinable portion. The refinable portion is processed into glue pulp. The glue pulp is refined to targeted, measured fiber properties. Varying amounts of the glue pulp, original short unrefined fibers, and long unrefined fibers are blended together to form an optimized slurry that is processed by a paper machine into an optimized recycled paper product. The process provides for improved drainage with the same or better paper properties allowing for cost reductions in fabrication.
