Assuming that a magnification of a light-receiving optical assembly is M, the number of pixels in the photoelectric conversion element array is N, and a pixel pitch is P (um), a low cut-off frequency HPF of the band-pass filter and a high cut-off frequency LPF of the band-pass filter satisfy: 3M/(N×P)≤HPF≤10M/(N×P), 40M/(N×P)≤LPF≤60M/(N×P).

All the cameras are synchronized with each other based on synchronization moment when integration of cameras end. A light synchronizing signal is transmitted to the at least one lighting device indicating a switching on and off times of the at least one lighting device, which switching off time corresponds to the synchronization moment, and calculating a starting time of integration based on an individual integration time of a camera and the synchronization moment common for cameras of the web inspection system.

A system for optimizing machine performance includes an optimization system and a data processing system. The data processing system records readings from data sources monitoring the performance of a machine and related aspects. The readings are processed at the optimization system and a machine learning model is trained to differentiate between data corresponding to an interval of optimal runtime performance and data corresponding to an interval of pre-error performance. The trained model is used to identify a subset of the various data sources that are most-predictive for a particular performance state of the machine, such as a pre-error performance state or an optimal runtime performance state. The subset of the various data sources are provided to a multivariate model for generating set-point recommendations for each of the most-predictive data sources. Visualizations are generated for providing real-time monitoring of deviations of the most-predictive data sources from the set-points associated therewith.

In certain exemplary embodiments, the sensor is an image capture device. In certain exemplary embodiments, the disruptor assembly can be adjusted remotely.

CD variations and/or MD variations in scan measurements are determined from spectral components of power spectra of scan measurements taken using two or more scanning speeds. Dominant spectral components having the same spatial frequencies identify CD variations and dominant spectral components having the same temporal frequencies identify MD variations. Dominant spectral components are extracted from a noisy power spectrum (PS) by sorting all spectral components into an ordered PS. A first polynomial representing background noise of the ordered PS is used to set a first threshold. Spectral components of the ordered PS that exceed the first threshold are removed to form a noise PS. A second polynomial representing the noise PS is used to set a second threshold. Spectral components of the PS that exceed the second threshold are identified as dominant spectral components of the PS.

A method of producing a paper product. A paper web is formed on a paper machine. The paper web has a plurality of sections. The web is analyzed to perform at least one of inspecting and identifying properties. The web is marked with a plurality of marks. At least one mark is marked at each of the plurality of sections. Thereafter, the web is wound with a winder to form a parent roll. A paper rating is assigned to each section based upon properties in that section that are identified. The web is unwound from the parent roll on a converting line having a plurality of operational parameters. At least one of the plurality of marks is read with a mark reading unit. The paper rating associated with the at least one mark is obtained. At least one operational parameter of the converting line is changed based upon the rating.
