Papermaking belts having offset openings, papermaking processes using belts having offset openings, and paper products made therefrom
A belt for creping a web in a papermaking process. The belt includes a surface onto which the web is transferred during the papermaking process. A plurality of openings extend through the surface, with the openings being arranged in lines that are offset from lines in the machine direction (MD) and cross-machine direction (CD) of the belt. Paper products, such as absorbent sheets, made from the belt have hollow dome regions and connecting regions between the domes, with the domes being arranged in lines that are offset from lines in the MD and CD of the paper products.
Method of manufacturing a film having low oxygen transmission rate values
A method of manufacturing a film having an oxygen transmission rate (OTR) value in the range of 0.1 to 200 cc/m.sup.2*24 h at 23° C., 50% relative humidity (RH), and an OTR value in the range of 0.1 to 2000 cc/m.sup.2*24 h at 38° C. at 85% RH, comprising at least 60% by weight nanocellulose based on the weight of the total amount of fibers in the film, wherein the method comprises the steps of, providing an aqueous suspension comprising said nanocellulose; forming a web from said aqueous suspension; calendering said web at a line load of at least 40 kN/m, and at a temperature of at least 60° C. wherein said film is formed and said web has an OTR value in the range of 50 to 10 000 cc/m.sup.2*24 h at 23° C., 50% RH before said calendering step, or more preferably in the range of 500 to 5000 cc/m.sup.2*24 h at 23° C., 50% RH before said calendering step.
Partitionable paper product
The present disclosure is directed to a paper towel product that will capably separate from the paper towel roll as a full sheet, a half sheet or a quarter sheet. A method of making a paper towel with machine direction perforations is also disclosed.
MULTI-PLY FIBROUS STRUCTURE-CONTAINING ARTICLES
Articles, for example multi-ply fibrous structure-containing articles such as multi-ply sanitary tissue products, containing two or more fibrous structure plies, and more particularly to multi-ply articles containing two or more fibrous structure plies having a plurality of fibrous elements wherein the articles exhibit improved bulk and absorbent properties compared to known articles and methods for making same, are provided.
Expanded slit sheet cushioning products with novel reduced dimension slit patterns
In the preferred embodiments, the present invention provides substantially improved slit sheet cushioning products by advantageously combining novel paper properties with novel slit patterns for improved features and characteristics. In some illustrative and non-limiting example embodiments, cushioning products of the present invention can include, e.g., a novel slit sheet material in combination with extensible paper employed as, e.g., a cushioning pad or as cushioning within an envelope product, wherein the cushioning product can be substantially more resilient, but, yet, e.g., thinner for better utilization of space.
Water & Oil Impermeable Paper Products, Paper Bags and the Process for Manufacturing the Same
Paper products, which could be made into bags, wrappers, receptacles, cups, boxes, and the like, are disclosed. The paper is coated with a water-resistant and oil resistant coating. In the case of forming paper bags, pouches, and the lie, the adhesives that could be used to bond the coated side in juxtaposition that can form a high bonding power can be any latex-base modifier copolymer, or modified loctite by heat sealing or the use of styrene ester copolymer are also disclosed.
Expanded slit sheet cushioning products with novel slit pattern and paper properties
PACKING PAPER
Packaging paper consisting of an unbleached kraft paper with a kappa value according to ISO 302:2015 between 38 and 60, preferably between 40 and 58 as base paper, which is optionally coated on at least one side, wherein the kraft paper is made of at least 90% primary pulp, has a basis weight according to ISO 536:2019 between 60 g/m.sup.2 and 150 g/m.sup.2 and an air resistance according to ISO 5636-5:2013 (Gurley) between 5 and 30 seconds, wherein the base paper has an elongation at break in the machine direction according to ISO 1924-3:2005 between 2.5% and 8.5% and has a Bendtsen roughness according to ISO 8791-2:2013 between 70 ml/min and 600 ml/min, preferably between 150 ml/min to 550 ml/min, more preferably 200 ml/min to 500 ml/min, and process for its production.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REFINING AGRICULTURAL FIBERS TO A PULP SPECIFICATION
Methods and systems for preparing non-wood agricultural feedstock material for use as a pulp, and making a paper product therefrom. The method includes providing non-wood agricultural feedstock material (e.g., corn stover) that includes agricultural fibers, chemically pulping the agricultural fibers at a low temperature of less than 100° C., refining the agricultural fibers (either before or after cooking), and introducing the produced agricultural fiber pulp into a papermaking machine to make liner, medium, tissue, towel, cardstock or other paper product (e.g., tubes, cores, chipboard, grayboard, or other rigid container board). The agricultural pulp fibers can also be introduced into a molded pulp products manufacturing machine, to make egg cartons, molded paper plates, molded single use packaging, or the like.
