Road rail stoneblower
10760221 · 2020-09-01 · ·

The present disclosure generally relates to a road rail stoneblower vehicle for carrying out rail maintenance operations near fixed structures such as bridges and overpasses. The road rail stoneblower includes a hi-rail chassis having a first set of wheels configured to engage a road surface and a second set of wheels configured to engage surfaces of substantially parallel rails of a railroad track. The road rail stoneblower further includes a plurality of workheads that are capable of dispensing ballast stones into a bed of ballast underlying the railroad track to adjust the height of the rails. The road rail stoneblower further includes a leveling system detachedly coupled to the hi-rail chassis that is configured to transmit a detectable signal that defines a reference plane with which the rails are to be aligned. Related methods of operation of the road rail stoneblower vehicle and associated maintenance of ballast beds underlying railroad tracks are also described.

A machine for the renewal of sleepers of a track having rails and for the cleaning of exposed ballast after removal of old sleepers, includes a machine frame which is movable on a rail bogie on the track, a screening plant and a clearing device having a collection device for collecting ballast. A sleeper transport device includes a sleeper gripper, rotatable about a vertical axis, between two end-positioned rail bogies, connected to the machine frame, and being displaceable in a longitudinal direction of the machine. The sleeper transport device is displaceable from a front end position (with respect to a working direction) provided for picking up new sleepers by the collection device for collecting ballast, to a rear end position configured to deposit the new sleepers.

Extruded Ballast Protection for Waterproofing

A method for establishing ballast protection film over a waterproofing membrane, the method comprising: a. providing at least one layer of a waterproofing membrane on a surface to form a waterproof seal upon said surface; and b. applying onto a surface of the waterproofing membrane a liquid curable composition at an average uncured thickness of no less than 0.5 mm and no greater than 50 mm, wherein the liquid curable composition comprises (i) at least one reactive acrylate-based monomer, and (ii) a polymerization initiator added to activate polymerization of the reactive acrylate-based monomer, wherein the liquid curable composition cures and forms a resin film when applied to the surface of the waterproofing membrane.
