Switch device

A switch device including a switch rail (12), the switch device having at least one stock rail (14), a junction rail (32) and a switch rail support (16), and the switch rail and the connecting rail being interconnected by a weld joint (34). The switch rail support (16) includes a through-opening (36) or a recess beneath the weld joint, the width of the through-opening or the recess being wider than the width of the switch rail (12). Furthermore, the length of the through-opening or the recess allows the junction rail (32) to connect to switch rails of the same or different lengths.

An assembly for securing a longitudinally extending rail for rail vehicles has a metallic base plate detachably fixed to a solid substrate. Rail holddowns secure the rail to the base plate, and retaining devices anchored in the substrate and pressing the base plate down against the base plate.

Compressible sealing element and use thereof for filling the gap between a stock rail and a switch rail in a railway switch

The compressible sealing element (1) comprises at least one piece made of a resilient foam (17). This foam has an open-cell content of at least 50% and has such a hardness that it requires a force of less than 2000 N to compress the sealing element (1) per meter length thereof to such an extent that the volume of a rectangular cuboid circumscribing the sealing element is reduced by 40%. The sealing element comprises a water-impermeable cover layer (18) which extends at least over its top surface. The sealing element is intended for filling at least partially the gaps between the stock rails (13) and the switch rails (12) in a railway switch to prevent the switch from being blocked in particular by snow. Advantages of the new sealing element is that it can easier be inserted in these gaps and that it has a smaller effect on the force required to close the switch so that it can also be applied closer to the free extremity of the switch rail (12).

Device for supporting a switch rail

The invention relates to supporting a switch rail of a switch having a projecting leaf spring which can be pretensioned to the switch rail and on which the switch rail is displaceably arranged. Low friction and easy adaptation to the mounting position is possible in that the leaf spring is adjustably arranged in its longitudinal direction in a guide body which can be fastened to the stock rail.

A track switch that comprises track rails of basic (2), (3), straight, (4), (5) and lateral (6), (7) directions fastened on a slab track (1); sliding switch rails (8); (9) and point rails (10), (11) that are rigidly fastened to the slab track (1) by means of mounting means (12). The point rails and switch rails form points. The track switch comprises also a shift mechanism with a drive (14) and an axis (15), whereto sliding locks (16), (17) are connected. The point rails (10), (11) and the switch rails (8), (9) are connected with each other by means of units. Each of the units is a guide (18) that is rigidly fastened to the point rail, a wedge (19) that is rigidly fastened to the switch rail (8), (9), a cleat wedge (20) placed in the guides that is capable of moving longitudinally and fastened with its both ends to point rods (21) of the wedge (see FIGS. 1 and 4). The sliding wedges (20) are connected to each other by means of point rods (21), the last of the point rods being connected with the axis of the shift mechanism that is capable of rotating or moving longitudinally, and is set into motion by a shift drive mechanism. The sliding switch rails (8), (9) are connected to each other by means of spacing rods (22).

RAILWAY SWITCH WITH LUBRICIOUS LINER

A railway switch system includes a base plate that has an exterior surface and a movable elongate rail that has a mounting flange that has an exterior surface that faces the exterior surface of the base plate. The railway switch system includes a lubricious liner disposed between the base plate and the mounting flange and mounted in parallel engagement on top of a substrate that is one of: the exterior surface of the base plate, the exterior surface of the mounting flange, and an exterior surface of an intervening plate disposed between the base plate and the mounting flange. The lubricious liner has an exposed bearing surface, has a second width, extends continuously across the second width, and is substantially planar. The lubricious liner consists of a non-metallic graphite free material consisting of a blend of polymer resin, fibers and a lubricant.
