Bypass merge lanes
A system to improve the management of through traffic and vehicles entering and exiting a multilane roadway. The lanes are separated by at least one lane separator which should not be crossed by traffic along a designated portion of the roadway, such as within a predetermined distance from a roadway entrance or exit. The at least one lane separator may be any lane marking, barrier, or the like. The at least one lane separator can be any length and located anywhere with respect to the lanes.

Synergistic reconfigurable traffic intersection
The present invention relates to a traffic intersection and traffic guidance system therefor, that has an intersection region where two roads cross, and a distal crossover zone that allows vehicles that are turning to the right (on a left-hand-drive road) to crossover to the right hands side of the road at a distance from the intersection. In this way, a separate right turn phase is not required by the traffic lights at the intersection, and vehicles turning right can turn at the same time as vehicle moving straight over the intersection or turning left. The turning right lane approaching the distal crossover zone from a distal side of the distal crossover zone is located on the far left, allowing vehicles going straight to continue to move in a straight line. Lanes that guide vehicles moving straight are reconfigurable to guide vehicles to move in opposed directions at different time of the day, depending on the traffic loading, and are also reconfigurable as parking spaces. Bicycle lanes are also provided that are received form the intersection region between the turning right lane proximal of the distal crossover zone and the going straight lanes approaching the intersection region.
One-way loop mosaicking for higher transportation capacity and safety
The present disclosure provides new transportation design methods and a system that can improve road capacity, throughput, and travel safety as well as facilitate the current and future development of autonomous driving. The new methods and system basically eliminate all potential stopping, slowing down, and traditional crossing intersections in traffic. By mosaicking variously sized and shaped one-way loops in two-dimension and a myriad of ways and levels, the new design and system generally reduce possibilities of road accidents and utilization, reduce city pollution and improve energy efficiency, as well as encourage ride sharing and public transportation. The new design can always be compatible with existing streets and support progressive construction in phases at a controllable cost so it is practical in implementation.
Method, system for roadway intersection designs and computer program product
A computer program product for intersection design generation and evaluation method is provided. Intersection geometry, turning movement volume and design constraints are received from a user. All possible intersection designs are generated using iterative movement placement method provided. Intersection designs are filtered through design constraints. Total conflicting volume for each intersection designs are determined using two boundary methods provided. All intersection designs are ranked based on total conflicting volume. All possible intersection geometry, total critical volume and intersections ranks are provided to user as output.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A ROAD INTERCHANGE WITH ACCESS FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
Zonal transportation hubs providing an interface between public and private road-transport at highway junctions. A public-transport zone has a dedicated road network connecting the highways to a station and a separate private-transport zone has a separate road network connecting the highways to a parking lot. A pedestrian zone provides a uninterrupted route between the parking lot and the station.

Modular block system for roundabouts
A roundabout for vehicular traffic is provided from a plurality of modular blocks arranged in a generally circular roundabout pattern and affixed to a roadway or ground surface at an intersection of vehicle roadways. Roundabouts can be formed in any desired diameter. In some embodiments, the modular blocks can have a trapezoidal plan shape laid out in concentric rings. The trapezoidal shaped blocks can be cut from a length of board having a constant width and thickness. The modular blocks can be provided as a kit of parts delivered to worksite at an intersection of vehicle roadways where a roundabout is desired. Splitter islands, sidewalks, and curbing of blocks having appropriate shapes can also be provided.
