Anti-icing surface with polymeric supports
A deicing cassette for connection to a substrate is provided. The deicing cassette includes a panel having a top, an underside, and a plurality of edges, the top of the panel configured as a walking surface. The deicing cassette further includes a heating system secured in thermal contact with the underside of the panel. Additionally, the deicing cassette includes a polymeric support system fastened to at least one edge of the panel and configured to support the panel and provide the panel at least one of thermal insulation or galvanic insulation from the substrate.
ASPHALT PAVEMENT PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD USING HYDROPHOBIC MICROWAVE ABSORBING MATERIAL
Asphalt paving system and method involves the use of a primer, comprising hydrophobic microwave absorbing material mixed in a hydrophobic liquid, between an asphalt layer and a base layer below. The primer is configured to be deposited on the base layer at room temperature without preheating. Heating the hydrophobic microwave absorbing material, sandwiched between the asphalt and base layers, by microwave energy, allows for both effective de-icing of the asphalt pavement and for efficient repairs of the pavement, the latter by striping of the asphalt layer from the base layer.
Organic Composition for Treating Roads
A composition for treating roads includes a substrate having a coarse texture and being formed from fibers of wood, wood pulp, bamboo, sugar cane, or a combination thereof. The fibers each have a length less than about 25 mm (about 1 inch). The composition further includes an organic solution generated as a waste stream byproduct of a food-processing operation or the distillation of an alcohol. The substrate is at least partially saturated with the organic solution and has a freezing point in the range of −25° Celsius (−13° Fahrenheit) to −35° Celsius (−30° Fahrenheit). The composition may further include a salt or brine solution including two-to-five parts-by-volume of the at least partially saturated substrate, respectively, to eight-to-five parts-by-volume of the salt or brine solution, respectively, thereby resulting respectively in a 20% to 50% modified brine solution.

Pavement deicing or snow-melting system and construction method thereof
The present invention provides a pavement deicing or snow-melting system, comprising a water-permeable pavement, a drainage device and a heating device, wherein the water-permeable pavement comprises, successively from the top down, a water-permeable asphalt concrete coating, a porous cement stabilized macadam layer, a reflecting layer, a waterproof layer, a semi-rigid base and a semi-rigid cushion; the drainage device comprises a drainage ditch and a sheet cover; a water inlet is formed on the drainage ditch; a lower edge of the drainage ditch is not lower than the waterproof layer; curbs are arranged on edges of the water-permeable asphalt concrete coating and the porous cement stabilized macadam layer; and, the heating device is arranged between the water-permeable asphalt concrete coating and the porous cement stabilized macadam layer.
Frost resistant surface
Methods, systems and devices for making a pedestrian, vehicular, or other surface resistant to frost, snow and ice by use of heat are disclosed. A composite base or deck element includes a recess to accommodate heating element. A thermal insulator has an upward facing layer of heat-conductive aluminum foil, above which sits the heating element. On top is a pedestrian, vehicular, or other exposed surface, for example a tactile warning surface.
BUILDING SYSTEM
A building system comprising of a plurality of panels wherein the building system is configured to be either superposed an existing structure or a ground surface. The plurality of panels of the building system are shaped so as to be mateable when place adjacent to each other. The panels include a bottom and walls that form an interior volume. The bottom and walls of the panels are manufactured from a thermally conductive material such as but not limited to metal. The interior volume of the panels are filled with a lightweight structural material such as but not limited to polyurethane foam or autoclaved concrete. A first temperature source is disposed within the panels and is configured to have a fluid pass therethrough. A second temperature source is present and is a heating element. The panels are operable to utilize either temperature sources.
AN ANTI-ICING LAMINATE MATERIAL AND THE USE THEREOF
A unique laminate comprising a base mat layer, a first sealing layer, a second sealing layer, and a top layer is provided, wherein the unique laminate can effectively inhibit the formation or accumulation of ice or snow on the surface of a substrate while can still achieve superior structural integration and mechanical strength. The use of the laminate material and a method for inhibiting the formation or accumulation of ice or snow on the surface of a substrate are also provided.
Integrated pavement systems for collecting and recycling de-icing fluid
An integrated ground surface system is provided for collecting and recycling de-icing fluid. The system includes: a permeable ground surface layer; a containment area located below the permeable ground surface layer, and comprising an impermeable liner to collect the de-icing fluid; a reservoir in fluidic communication with the containment area for storing the de-icing fluid; and an applicator device in fluidic communication with the reservoir to dispense the de-icing fluid.
