IMPACT-ATTENUATING DEVICE, VEHICLE AND TRAILER COMPRISING AN IMPACT-ATTENUATING DEVICE
An impact-attenuating device includes a first energy-absorbing part having at least one first elongate body and at least one corresponding first energy converter to deform the first elongate body in the case of relative movement. A second energy-absorbing part has at least one second elongate body and at least one corresponding second energy converter configured to deform the second elongate body in the case of relative movement. A bumper is coupled to the first energy-absorbing part. The first and second energy-absorbing parts are positionable one behind the other. The first and second energy-absorbing part are mutually coupled such that the at least first and second elongate bodies are deformed at least partially simultaneously by respectively the at least one corresponding first energy converter and the at least one corresponding second energy converter when a vehicle crashes into the bumper.
Mobile barrier
A safety trailer is shown including first and second platforms, at least one of said first and second platforms having an axle and wheels attached thereto; a plurality of interconnected wall sections positioned between and connected to the first and second platforms, the plurality of wall sections defining a protected work area on a side of the trailer; and wherein the trailer supports a ballast member, the ballast member being positioned near a first side of the trailer and the wall sections near a second, opposing side of the trailer, the ballast member offsetting, at least partially, a weight of the plurality of wall sections.

BARRIER MEMBER
A barrier member including: a support; a first engagement member coupled to the support; and a translatable column defining a longitudinal axis, wherein the translatable column is rotatably and translatably mounted relative to the support, wherein the translatable column is translatable between: a first position in which the translatable column and the first engagement member are spaced apart from one another such that the translatable column is rotatable about said longitudinal axis; and a second position in which the translatable column and the first engagement member are engaged to prevent rotation of the translatable column about said longitudinal axis.
Impact detecting and tracking systems and methods for vehicle crash attenuation systems
An impact tracking system includes a sensor module that mounts to a fixed crash attenuator, sign, guardrail, or other roadway devices installed along a roadway. When the crash attenuator or other asset is impacted by an errant vehicle, the impact tracker, comprising a sensor system, senses and captures the impact data and sends an alert message to a remote receiver. The receiver may comprise known data receiving means, such as computers or phone systems, which may receive emails, text messages, photos, and the like in real or near real time. Received data may be analyzed, stored, and/or re-transmitted to additional receivers, which may include road authorities, such as transportation departments responsible for inspecting and repairing the impact attenuators.
Barrier with cable system
A protective barrier includes a first end piece including a first opening and a first anchoring member for securing the first end piece to a surface, a second end piece including a second opening and a second anchoring member for securing the second end piece to the surface, a rail extending between the first end piece and the second end piece, the rail having a first end disposed in the first opening of the first end piece and a second end disposed in the second opening of the second end piece, and a cable system including a first fastener coupled to the first anchoring member, a second fastener coupled to the second anchoring member, and a cable having a first end attached to the first fastener and a second attached to the second fastener, the cable extending from the first fastener, through the first opening, through the rail, through the second opening, and to the second fastener.
