A brush (1) intended for industrial use comprises one or more bristle bunches formed by a plurality of elongated bristles, one or more cassette elements having said bristle bunches, and a cassette element holding member (3) at which said cassette elements may be removably secured. At least one of said cassette elements comprises a body, one or more recesses configured to receive said bristle bunches therein, and a securing wire configured to secure said bristle bunches in said recesses. Said at least one cassette element further comprises means configured to counteract movement of the bristles of a bristle bunch with respect to each other and/or with respect to the securing wire.

A strip brush assembly with a plurality of elongated polymer bristles forming a section and a plurality of elongated metal bristles forming another section adjacent the polymer bristles section, such that the metal bristles section is supported by the polymer bristles section. The polymer and metal bristles are bonded and encapsulated in a base formed by direct extrusion onto and around the polymer and metal bristles to secure them to the formed base. The strip brush assembly may be used on a tubular mandrel of a street sweeper.

A power split and creep drive system for street sweeper or like specialty vehicle having a single engine is disclosed. The system intends to retrofit and convert on-highway truck chassis into specialty vehicles capable of performing work function and moving at creeping speed, such as a street sweeper. It includes a hydraulic work circuit or power-take-off (PTO) port, a planetary gear set, a hydraulic system comprising pumps and motors to drive the working devices and balance the demand between propulsion and work function such as sweeping. The planetary gear set includes an input shaft connecting to a transmission output shaft of the chassis, a first output shaft connecting to a hydraulic machine, and a second output shaft to vehicle propulsion drive shaft.

A sweeper vehicle may have an automatic side broom strike pattern positioning system including a plurality of actuators (e.g., pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or powered leadscrew) and a plurality of sensors (e.g., inclinometers and position sensors). The strike pattern may be maintained at a desired position as the side broom moves to different positions in a range of movement between a fully extended position and a fully retracted position. The system may have an override feature by which a vehicle operator may interrupt the automatic side broom positioning to allow the vehicle operator to take direct control of one or more side brooms, including the broom deployment angle and broom pitch and roll to create desired strike patterns for the side brooms. The invention is in the field of a cleaning machine for a road or pavement or gutter. These machines are used to remove objects, such as small items, such as leaves, and dirt from a road or the like, using a broom system for cleaning the road or the like, and typically a storage for removed objects and dirt.

The cleaning device travels on a road surface and collects an accumulated substance accumulated on the road surface and includes a travelling trolley, a collector provided on a front face part of the travelling trolley that collects the accumulated substance accumulated on the road surface in front of the travelling trolley as the travelling trolley travels forward, and a sweeper provided on the travelling trolley and that sweeps the accumulated substance accumulated on the road surface beside the travelling trolley toward a position in front of the travelling trolley.

A method of removing debris from an area of turf grass can include providing a grass treatment system including a comb having a leading edge comprising a plurality of comb teeth, wherein the comb is mounted transversely to a direction of travel, and a substantially cylindrical brush positioned above the comb and configured to engage at least a portion of a top surface of the comb, wherein the brush rotates relative to the comb. The method can include positioning the grass treatment system closely adjacent to the turf grass such that the comb engages debris on and around the turf grass surface, and moving the grass treatment so that (i) the comb engages the debris, (ii) the rotating brush removes at least a portion of the debris from the surface of the comb, and (iii) the rotating brush does not come into contact with the turf grass.

A gutter broom is provided. The gutter broom can include a mandrel, one or more carriers, each carrier removably coupled to the mandrel, and one or more bristle strips, each bristle strip removably coupled to one of the carriers. The gutter broom components can be recyclable and modular, requiring no tools for assembly or servicing.
