Wing plow apparatus for vehicle
11555283 · 2023-01-17 · ·

A snow plow apparatus including at least one pivotable plow wing that is capable of removing snow or debris adjacent to a vehicle. The pivotable plow wing is operable to deploy from a stowed configuration behind the vehicle to a deployed configuration where the plow wing substantially extends beyond a side of the vehicle and is in contact with a surface to be plowed to remove snow adjacent to the footprint of the vehicle. Once deployed, the pivotable wing is configurable to direct snow or debris away from or toward the vehicle by adjusting the angle of the plow wing relative to the direction of travel of the vehicle. The snow plow apparatus includes powered actuators and an electronic control unit that coordinate to operate the snow plow apparatus without the need for an operator to manually deploy, stow, or position the snow plow apparatus.

Snow plow and mount assembly

A snow plow and mount frame assembly permits an operator to attach and detach a snow plow to and from a mount frame secured to a vehicle, without the operator exiting a cab of the vehicle. The assembly comprises a mount frame, a snow plow frame, a plow blade, a first actuator for pivoting the A-frame relative to the lift frame, a latch mechanism, and a second actuator to either latch or unlatch the latch mechanism. When the vehicle is driven toward the snow plow the snow plow frame mates with the mount frame and an electrical connection is made between the vehicle electrical system and at least the first actuator without manual manipulation. The second actuator is energized to either latch the latch mechanism thereby securing the snow plow frame to the mount frame or unlatch the latch mechanism thereby freeing the snow plow frame from the mount frame.

Snow diverter mechanism
11549226 · 2023-01-10 ·

A snow diverter mechanism for deflecting snow being thrown by a snow plow, away from such objects as driveways, fire hydrants and mail boxes. The snow diverter is positioned inside the concave curve of and a predefined distance from the curved side edge of the snow plow blade to avoid snagging the snow diverter mechanism on a curb or other obstacles.

Snow-removing vehicle
11702808 · 2023-07-18 ·

The snow-removing vehicle may comprise a snow collector, a vacuum, a tank, a steam chamber, and a vehicle. As the vehicle drives through snow, the snow collector may remove the snow from a roadway and may direct the snow towards a vacuum hose. The vacuum may draw the snow from the snow collector, through the vacuum hose, and into the tank. The snow may be heated while in the tank and may melt into water. The heating may turn the water into steam. The steam may collect in the steam chamber before being expelled from the vehicle via one or more exhaust fans.

LED marker with single high lumen LED light

Provided in this disclosure is an apparatus for marking an implement, such as a snow plow. An elongated tubular member retains an illuminated member such a high lumen LED lighting element mounted substantially adjacent to the bottom end of the elongated tubular member and configured to shine light through the interior of the elongated tubular member toward the top end. Conductor wiring connects a source of electrical energy to the LED. An enclosing cap includes a crimped end portion secured to the bottom end of the elongated tubular member. A cylindrical end portion has a hollow interior for admitting the conductor wiring for connection to the source of electrical energy. A mounting bracket can include a first mounting surface and a second mounting surface, formed together to support the illuminated member.

PLOW BLADE WEAR MEMBER

A plow blade wear member having a slower wear rate than known blade wear members, and having a reduced tendency to partially break off, fracture, chip, or become otherwise damaged when the blade wear member engages a discontinuity in a travel surface. In various embodiments of the present disclosure, the blade wear member is formed or cut from a used airplane tire. In various embodiments of the present disclosure, the blade wear member is formed or cut from a used fiber reinforced airplane tire having a relatively large outer circumference to provide the desired radius of curvature, the desired thickness, and the desired strength for the blade wear member.

V-shaped snowplow blade with trip edge and pivotable snow shield
11708672 · 2023-07-25 · ·

A multi-position snowplow blade, a snowplow incorporating the blade and a method of use thereof. The blade includes left and right wings that each having a trip edge pivotally engaged therewith. Each trip edge includes a lower section of a moldboard, a cutting edge, and a snow shield. A biasing assembly biases the trip edge into alignment with an upper section of the moldboard. The trip edges trip when the blade strikes an obstacle on a surface being plowed. When the trip edge trips, it pivots about a horizontal axis and relative to the associated upper section. Each snow shield pivotally engages the lower section of the associated trip edge and pivots relative thereto when the trip edge trips. The pivotal motion of the two snow shields widens a gap therebetween and helps to reduce the possibility of damage to the pivoting trip edges.

A V-blade for a snowplow, a snowplow incorporating the V-blade and a method of use thereof. The blade includes left and right wings engaged with one another. A trip edge is provided on each wing and includes a lower section of moldboard, a cutting edge, and a snow shield. Each trip edge engages an upper section of the associated moldboard via a biasing assembly. The biasing assembly biases the trip edge into alignment with the moldboard's upper section and also biases the trip edge towards a central vertical axis. When the V-blade strikes an obstacle on the surface during snow removal, the trip edges individually pivot about a horizontal axis extending along a shaft of the associated biasing assembly. The trip edges subsequently translate linearly along the horizontal axis and away from the vertical axis.
