A multi-position snowplow blade, a snowplow incorporating the blade and a method of use thereof. The blade includes left and right wings that each having a trip edge pivotally engaged therewith. Each trip edge includes a lower section of a moldboard, a cutting edge, and a snow shield. A biasing assembly biases the trip edge into alignment with an upper section of the moldboard. The trip edges trip when the blade strikes an obstacle on a surface being plowed. When the trip edge trips, it pivots about a horizontal axis and relative to the associated upper section. Each snow shield pivotally engages the lower section of the associated trip edge and pivots relative thereto when the trip edge trips. The pivotal motion of the two snow shields widens a gap therebetween and helps to reduce the possibility of damage to the pivoting trip edges.

An attachment assembly for attaching a snow plow blade to a vehicle includes a pair of interface brackets, a pair of articulated intermediate structures mounted to the interface brackets, a transversal member joining the intermediate structures, and a trigger assembly. The trigger assembly includes a static member with a pivoting attachment point for attachment to the snow plow blade and top and bottom attachment points for releasable attachment to the intermediate structure, a pin assembly, and a biasing means attached to the pin assembly and to the static member. A plow lift cushion assembly can include a housing with a top. The housing can define a chamber. A slider with a sled and a shaft extending from the sled can be included. The sled can be configured to translate within the chamber. The shaft can extend out of the top of the housing and can be configured to be coupled to a plow lift arm. A spring-cushion system can be positioned within the chamber and can extend between the top and the sled. A set of flanges can extend from the housing. The set of flanges can be configured to interface with a set of chains coupled to a plow frame.

An accessory assembly, such as a plow assembly for a vehicle, includes a mounting structure configured to mount at a vehicle, a support structure and an accessory or plow. The support structure includes a vehicle end and an attaching end, with the vehicle end attached to the mounting structure via a cushioning assembly. The accessory or plow is pivotally attached at the attaching end of the support structure and is pivotable about a generally vertical axis. The cushioning assembly includes (i) a first element attached at the vehicle end of the support structure, (ii) a second element attached at the mounting structure, and (iii) a plurality of resilient elements disposed between the first element and the second element.

A down pressure plow system with a float function is disclosed for use in a vehicle. The plow system includes a plow frame assembly and a plow blade carried by the plow blade assembly. An actuator is configured to move the plow blade up and down. A down pressure linkage is coupled to the plow frame assembly. The down pressure linkage applies a downward force to the plow blade upon actuating the actuator to move the plow blade and simultaneously allows the plow blade to move upward upon an upward force being applied to the plow blade.
