20230047850 · 2023-02-16 ·

Disclosed are embodiments of a method for manufacturing concreate panels for a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall that employ geosynthetic strips that attach to the MSE retaining wall and extend into the backfill soil. One embodiment can be generally summarized as follows: (a) providing a mold for the concrete panel; (b) providing in the mold: (1) a plastic pipe; (2) a metal rod situated in the pipe; (3) a removable block-out insert that creates a geosynthetic strip cavity within the panel body around the pipe for enabling a geosynthetic strip to be looped around the pipe; (c) introducing concrete into the mold; (d) permitting the concrete to substantially solidity within the mold; and (e) after the concrete has substantially solidified, separating the panel from the mold and removing the block-out insert to expose the cavity and the pipe extending through the cavity.

Manhole assembly

A manhole assembly including a base, riser, and cap. The base having an upper surface forming a bench, a bottom surface, and a radially outward surface with penetrations there through; and a radial spigot in the radially outward upper edge of the base. The base having a corrosive-resistant layer covering the channels, bench, and radial spigot. Also disclosed is a riser comprised of a corrosive-resistant polymer pipe having a radially outward surface, an inner surface and a bottom surface in contact with, supported by, and sealed to the radial spigot. The cap having a radial spigot, and access hole; the radial spigot in the radially outward bottom edge of the cap resting upon and sealed to an upper edge of the riser. The radially outward surface of the cap and base are aligned with the radially outward surface of the riser.

Method and Device for Pre-Casting Conduit Holes in Building Foundations
20220349142 · 2022-11-03 ·

A method of constructing multiple conduits in building foundations that eliminates the process of core drilling after the foundation has been poured and set. This method creates optional openings for possible future connections. The process uses removable conduit molds installed before the foundation is poured. Once the foundation has set, conduit molds are removed to explose conduits in the foundation as needed.

A pile is comprised of a pipe, i.e., a tube or hollow cylinder of annular cross-section, with a coextensive internal reinforcement comprised of a plurality of intersecting walls forming a plurality of vertices. Each vertex intersects the pipe. Adjacent intersections are evenly spaced around the annular cross-section. The pile is comprised of a blend of PVC and 20 to 50% (pbw) chopped strand glass fibers. A groove is cut into the pile adjacent to an end for frictional retention in a sea bed.

Landscaping walls, systems and methods of manufacturing and installation of such walls include in aspects a fiberglass based wall having a decorative front side and a back side having at least one conduit where the conduit receives a cable or fastener extending outward from both ends of the conduit to connect to a stake to be inserted into ground adjacent the wall. The conduit in one aspect is a PVC tube mounted vertically against the wall and in aspects is embedded within the wall. The conduit allows for self-adjustment of the cable while also providing solid anchoring of the wall to prevent movement. The wall and system is lightweight, good looking and easy to install.

A pile is comprised of a pipe, i.e., a hollow tube or hollow cylinder, with a coextensive internal reinforcement comprised of a plurality of intersecting walls. The pile is comprised of a blend of a thermoplastic and 20 to 50% (pbw) pelletized chopped strand glass fibers. The outer surface includes a co-extruded cap stock that is relatively smooth and exhibits a relatively low coefficient of friction. The internal structures exhibit roughness, bumpiness and a relatively high coefficient of friction for an extruded plastic. A groove may be formed in the pile adjacent to an end for resistance to uplift.

MECHANICALLY STABILIZED EARTH (MSE) RETAINING WALL EMPLOYING GEOSYNTHETIC STRIP WITH PLASTIC PIPE(S) AROUND STEEL ROD
20220220691 · 2022-07-14 ·

Disclosed are various embodiments of a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining wall that employ, for reinforcement, a geosynthetic strip that attaches to the MSE retaining wall and extends into the backfill soil. In one embodiment, the MSE retaining wall has at least one concrete panel. The panel has a cavity extending from the backside into the body for receiving a flexible, generally flat, geosynthetic strip. The panel has a plastic pipe (or first cylindrical body) that is situated within the body of the panel in a position so that the plastic pipe is generally horizontal from a front elevation view vantage point of the panel and is generally parallel with the backside of the panel from a top view vantage point of the panel. The plastic pipe extends through the cavity and its ends reside within the concrete panel. The MSE retaining wall further includes a steel rod situated inside of the plastic pipe. The geosynthetic strip extends from backfill soil adjacent to the backside of the panel, into the cavity of the panel, around the elongated body of the plastic pipe, out of the cavity, and into the backfill soil. In another embodiment of the MSE retaining wall, an end of the geosynthetic strip is bound to the panel with a double compression loop arrangement that utilizes an additional solid second plastic rod (or second cylindrical body).
