A first of the lower body and the upper body includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart recessed receptacles of varying depths. A second of the lower body and the upper body includes at least one protrusion extending outwards therefrom. The at least one protrusion is shaped to at least partially fit within respective ones of the receptacles.

In some examples, when each slot nut is received within the corresponding slot, the lower nut surface is recessed within the corresponding slot.

According to one variation, the upper body has a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart flange members which selectively engage with circumferentially and axially spaced-apart flange members of the lower body which are aligned in columns. According to a further variation, the flange members of the lower body are aligned in segmented spiral formation. According to a further variation, the upper body includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart, outwardly-extending protrusions which are insertable with selective ones of a variation of receptacles of varying depths which are a part of the lower body.

The mechanism includes an upper body having an annular wall and an end flange member extending radially outwards from the wall adjacent a lower end thereof. The upper body is insertable in part within the lower body. The upper body is axially rotatable from the insertion position to a fixed position in which the end flange member is abutable with one or more of said height-fixing support assemblies. The mechanism includes a locking pin that couples to the upper body and inhibits rotation of the upper body relative to the lower body upon the upper body being rotated into the fixed position. The locking pin being shaped to extend at least in part into a groove of the end flange member of the upper body.

A system and method are disclosed for sealing an annular manhole riser ring assembly. A generally flat, bendable liner includes a flat strip that is generally conformably engageable with an interior circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. An outer surface of the liner strip carries a plurality of spacer elements that form a void between the generally flat liner strip and the engaged inner circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. An expandable tensioning device is operated to press the riser ring assembly against the circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. A flexible bonding substance is introduced into the void and allowed to set to seal the riser ring assembly.
