Anchored Hole Cover
An anchored hole cover for a bore hole cored from a paved surface that includes a cover plate configured to cover the bore hole and support vehicular traffic. An anchoring mechanism is attached to the cover plate and extends down into the bore hole. The anchoring mechanism is configured to be actuated by a user torque input that is transmitted through a linkage system to cause an anchoring mechanism to selectively engage or disengage the wall of the bore hole. When the anchoring mechanism is engaged with the wall the anchoring mechanism is biased into contact with the hole, and is prevented from unintentional extraction. The anchored hole cover effectively provides a temporary cover for a bore hole in a road, parking lot, or other paved surfaces that supports vehicular traffic, that prevents extraction due to vibrations of passing traffic, thus preventing damage to cars and their occupants.
LOCKING ELEMENT
The invention relates to a locking element (11) for securing a grate (3). The locking element (11) comprises a spring element (113) kept between a cover element (111a) and a spring support element (117). The spring support element (117) is displaceable relative to the cover element (111a) by means of an actuating element (115). The displacement of the spring support element (117) causes a movement of at least one of the ends (113a, 113b) of the spring element (113) relative to the cover element (111a).
Locking assembly
A locking assembly is provided for a cover. The cover is a substantially rigid cover configured to close off an opening to a void, said void bounded by a side wall. The cover defines a top side and an opposed underside. The locking assembly includes a mounting arrangement mountable to the underside. A link is pivotally connected to the mounting arrangement. The link defines a first end and a second, free end. A locking member is carried by the second, free end of the link. The locking member frictionally engages the side wall of the void in a locking position, in use. An actuating member connects to the link and is accessible via the top side. The actuating member displaces the link relative to the mounting arrangement to cause the locking member to frictionally disengage from the side wall of the void to a disengaged position.
Retainer for closure device
Disclosed is retainer for a nut. The retainer is positioned within the frame that provides access to a closure. The closure, in turn, is secured by way of a removable cover. The cover is removably secured to the frame by way of a series of bolts and corresponding nuts. The nuts are secured by way of the retainer to allow the bolts to be secured. Each retainer includes upper and lower opening and an internal area. The upper opening is preferably angled such that the nut must be oriented at an angle in order to be inserted into the retainer. The internal area of each retainer includes a ledge with an angled step. The angled step function is rotating the nut to a horizontal orientation after it has been inserted into the retainer. Thereafter, a user can access the nut with a finger through the lower opening. This allows the nut to be rotated and removed via the upper opening. The various features of the present retainer, and the manner in which they interrelate, are described in greater detail hereinafter.
High security multi-tiered locking system for utility vaults
A locking system for a utility vault including an I-beam extending across an opening in utility vault, a two-piece lid positioned in the opening over the I-beam, brackets positioned on opposite ends of each piece of the two-piece utility lid for engaging an inside wall surface of the utility vault and the I-beam, and a three-tier locking system positioned at an end of one piece of the two-piece lid to lock the lid to the vault including a L-bolt lock, a padlock and a lockable door on an upper surface of the lid.
CLOSURE SYSTEMS, DEBRIS CAPS, HOLDER DEVICES, AND RELATED TECHNOLOGIES
A cap assembly can include a cap holder device with a plug member and a cap holder. The cap holder device is positionable in an end of a conduit positioned along a roadway. The cap holder is carried by the plug member and includes a magnetic element and a connector. The connector is connectable to the magnetic element to the plug member such that the magnetic element is movable relative to the plug member so as to position the magnetic element for releasably holding a cap that covers the end of the conduit when the plug member is positioned in the conduit. The cap assembly can be a debris cap insertable in a conduit, an end of a pipe, or other opening.
Cover device
A cover device for use with an aperture disposed through a surface and having an inner perimeter surface includes a cover plate having a body portion with inner and outer surfaces and at least one elongated channel disposed therethrough. The cover plate includes a plurality of retention members extending inwardly into the at least one elongated channel. At least one engagement feature is operably coupled to the cover plate at the at least one elongated channel and slidably disposed along the at least one elongated channel between retracted and deployed positions. The at least one engagement feature includes at least one engagement member disposed below the inner surface of the cover plate that engages the inner perimeter surface of the aperture when the at least one engagement feature is in the deployed position when the cover plate is positioned over the aperture.
LID FOR UTILITIES ENCLOSURE HAVING INTERNAL REINFORCEMENT MATRIX AND METHOD FOR MAKING LID
A lid for a utilities vault having a moldable core and a reinforcement matrix positioned within the core, the reinforcement matrix including longitudinally and laterally extending intersecting members and a plurality of lid feature housings positioned on and attached to the intersecting members, the lid feature housings extending through the core and protruding to the upper and lower surfaces of the lid, and the plurality of longitudinally and laterally extending intersecting members have a height sufficient to provide reinforcement without a perimeter member for the reinforcement matrix.
LOCAKABLE MANHOLE COVERS AND METHODS FOR LOCKING A MANHOLE COVER
A lockable manhole cover incudes, for example, a manhole cover installable in an opening in a manhole frame, a locking member attached via a pin and slot arrangement beneath the manhole cover, and a lever pivotally attached to the manhole cover. A lower end portion of the lever is operably engageable with the locking member to move the locking member relative to the manhole cover. The lever is disposable in a lowered position so that an end portion of the locking member is operably engageable with a portion of the manhole frame for use in inhibiting removal of the lockable manhole cover from the manhole frame. The lever is disposable in a raised position so that the end portion of the locking member is operably disengageable with the portion of the manhole frame to allow removal or installation of the lockable manhole cover from or in the manhole frame.
PORTABLE MANWAY SECURING APPARATUS
A portable securing apparatus which is readily secured to a manway of a vessel having a portal intended to enable entry of service personnel into the vessel is described. The securing apparatus affords an improved grip to assist service personnel to enter the vessel. The securing apparatus is for temporary mounting to the manway. The securing apparatus includes a mounting plate mountable to a flange conventionally provided as part of the manway, and a handle for accommodating manual grasp of the securing apparatus.
